The Wellston players involved in the car accident Thursday night were transported to Holzer Medical Center Jackson, but none of the injuries are believed to be serious.

The mud will be slinging tonight in Wellston . I still say a shootout. Before the season I said that both Wellston and Meigs needed to play better defense .Well they atleast can score.

I didn't intend to hurt your feelings I just think that they could be replaced with somthing before someone is seriously injured no matter what team they play for.

Have you ever seen elder's field they have concrete bleachers the same distance as the poles your so worried about. I have been watching wellston football games for better part of 25 years and can count on one hand how many people I have seen hit the deadly poles you whine about.

Why are they there & is it worth it if just one player is injured?????

Must either be the ugliest game of the night or nobody is in attendance or cares.

With around 5 minutes to go, Meigs 18, Welston 6, Welston was driving and throwed a interception.

Final

Meigs 18
Wellston 14

Meigs led 12-0 at the half
Wellston scored on first possession of second half to make it 12-6.

With Wellston on the move, Jeffery Roush returned an interception 80 yards for a TD. 18-6 Meigs.

After a Meigs fumble late in the game near midfield, Cody Wilkett ran 40 + yards to the 3 yard line. Wellston scored a couple plays later and Wilkett then hit Ryan Darnell for the 2 point conversion with Darnell making a great catch of a tipped ball. 18-14 Meigs

The onside kick was recovered by Jesse Smith of Meigs.

Meigs ran out the clock to end the game.

I was able to listen to the end of this game while leaving River Valley, what was going on during the final few minutes, the refs sounded like they didn't know what they were doing or what was going on at the point.

2trap , It all started when Meigs was in the V- formation with 45 seconds left. They snaped the ball and it went through the Qb legs and Wellston recovered ,but the officials said is wasnt a fumbled snap.
I am not saying the officals cost the Rockets the game ,but they did cost them a possesion late that would have givin them a chance to score with 45 seconds left. About 40 yrds out. This was a hard fought game on both sides.

I know that the radio announcers were confused, it was like no one knew what was going on.

wasnt at the game...but i find it hard to see how wellston could recover a fumble that went "throught the qb's legs" while Meigs was in the V formation, since there are 3 in the backfield in this formation...

Wellston fans were crying about the officiating from the onset. Never heard so much crying and belly aching from a home crowd before. I guess in Wellston they are so use to getting all the calls that anything less seems like cheating to them.
