Alright, I have read this thread for over a week now with only a couple posts....however, lets face facts we lost...the season is over. The seniors from East finished their careers for the Tartans not how they wanted but they are one of the few groups who could say they never had a losing season as a Tartan. For the ones who play basketball now is the time for them to get ready to lace up the sneakers for basketball season and try to bring home a SOC I basketball title. For those who do not....now is the time to get into the weight room for next season.

This season was one that some did not see coming with what all returned from last year and finishing 5-5. This off season is going to determine how you finish next year...if you want to finish better than 5-5 or worse than 5-5. In order to finish better than 5-5 the team must hit the weight room hard, it will be hard to win games as was shown this year with a quarterback running for their lives when trying to throw the ball. The group coming back will be small and unless alot of incoming freshman come out for the team next years team or we get some transfers it could be one of the smallest teams we have had in a while. But the talent is there to win games, it is just getting that talent focused and ready to work hard especially in the off season.

 Love it when people start bickering. I'm no psychologist, but it would appear that Axe N' shield is just venting some frustration at his own shame and is trying to push the attention to someone else. I've talked to a lot of people from ND and one or two from Symmes and from what I've heard, this stuff with McKnight is way exaggerated. I heard from most sources that he had been ticking off the refs all night, and when he threw his headset, it hit the officials foot. I don't blame them for tossing him, I'm just saying that these reports seem slightly exaggerated.

And really guys? Is name calling going to do any good? I'm a Catholic and I take a lot of offense to what Axe said, both before and after the game, defaming the name of Father Pat and calling the classy ND community a bunch of drunks and fisheaters. If I were the ND coaches, I'd print Axe's other comments and save those for next year. Congrats to ND on the win. You guys deserved it. Take it to 'em next year.

2 good post above from tartanblue and falcon -- I'm not catholic but the bashing of religion in general is sad and quite frankly shows the ignorance of the poster.

I personally thought they would be 8-2...I still don't think they should of lost to Eastern (they never received game film from Tipton), Notre Dame (shot theirselves in the foot)...that would of been 7-3, a lot more respectable...but they finished .500...this year they had a lot of skill, they just lacked in the o-line department, I think a lot of people over looked that coming into this year...and you are right this team will be tiny, but if they can get into the weight room, and work extremely hard they could be back on track to another winning season and battling it out with Notre Dame for second place

To the IDIOT ax n shield who keeps posting comments that are so far from the truth for kids to read should not be allowed to be on this informative football forum. I never made an indecent gesture to Symmes Valley or their coaching staff, I got tossed because I should have had a sideline warning for talking to my quarterback beyond the numbers in the first half then I did throw my headsets but it didnt hit anyone because I wasnt on the field at the time it just wrapped around me. I not the first or last coach that will do that, everyone knows i'm a very emotional coach who cares very deeply for my players and school and I fight tooth and nail for them and that is that. The officials did what they thought was appropriate at the time if you agree or not agree they made the call and I learned a lesson, Im man enough to say that. Rusty and I are very competative and its always a battle, he has done an outstanding job this year and I wish the best for Symmes Valley its players, coaches and fans in the playoffs. To all the SOC playoff teams best of luck and congratulations on a great year. Try to do something positive for someone in your life today, it will bring happiness to your life!

What all does ND return for next year? I only watched them play for about 4 quarters this year (the 2nd half of the Oak Hill game and the first half of the Symmes Valley game), but they look like they've got some pretty good skill players, especially the receivers.
The line was small, but they played their guts out against Symmes Valley and I'm guessing they played like that in all the other games.
DVI football programs are up and down due to such small enrollments. A school like Notre Dame is bound to feel the effects of such a small enrollment, but I was impressed with the size of their team; it looks like they get excellent participation and the guys give it their all and that's all you can ask of them.

They return 13 seniors and their best receiver Tyler Noel who is a junior...they lose both starting running backs...I think this team could a playoff team...and I think Notre dame had something like 33 out of 37 boys playing?

Got a copy of ND stats. Looks like 10 seniors return, all with experience. Experienced O-line will be led by seniors Alex Staker, Jack Welsh and Drew Weems. Lost the center but 2 have experience at that position. There will be a battle for starting spots with injured seniors Evans and Grooms returning. Big freshman Daniel Ogg will also be demanding playing time. Lots of competition for the line spots.
RB's returning are senior Matt Saab and junior Brad Pierron. Sophomore Jacob Milani and freshman Dakota Smith may become impact players.
Senior QB Brock Hannah returns, 127 completions for 1409 yards.
Returning receivers are led by junior Tyler Noel 40 receptions for 639 yards, sophomore Kevin Lewis 26 receptions for 229 yards, seniors Jeff July 104 yards, Saab 59 yards, Ryan Lewis 49 yards, and sophomore Michael Mader. Competition will be fierce for wide out starting positions with the additions of impact freshman Smith, Will Toleman, and Adam Cooper.

I can only add the word, WOW!
