The fact we are even having this discussion says a lot about Gerald's talents.
How many legit NFL prospects have come out of Scioto County in the last 10, 20, 30 years? Maybe a handful...

Good deal. Nice to see him get picked up again so quick. Hopefully he will have the opportunity to show his talents. One thing for sure, the weather in San Diego is a heck of a lot better than Cincinnati.

Tony Malone (Portsmouth High School) played on the Packers and Lions a few years back.
Any others?

the biggest reason Gerald was let go was to make room for the Bengals to bring in a wideout with one being put out the rest of the year.

Tony Malone was signed with Detroit, as an undrafted free agent, and later went to Green Bay . He also play in NFL Europe, and the Arena football league.
Kirk Thompson, after graduating from UC, I believe had a few try outs, but I don’t think he was ever signed. Side note I think Kirk’s father Ed was with the Jets for a little bit but again, I’m not sure.
From Ironton Tyler Whaley was with the Bengals, but was cut before the season started. Still a great accomplishment. I think Ironton has a few, others that have made it, one guy played with Tony Malone in NFL Europe.
PHS has had other guys that have the talent of Gerald, but didn’t have the head on their shoulders that he does. I really think that is what has helped him get as far as he has. He is very smart, and will never do anything stupid on the field, and especially off the field. I believe teams see him as a positive personality to add to their locker room.
My only knock on Gerald is when I saw him come home for a PHS game this fall, he didn’t bother to stand up or clap for the fight song, or cheer for the team. I would think he would be the # 1 supporter for the Trojans, but he seemed very uninterested in the game. Like I said that is my only knock on him, and he isn’t the only person at Trojan games that doesn’t cheer so maybe I’m over reacting.
As always best of luck to Gerald, GO CHARGERS
