I'll definitely be posting the story on LoganFootball.com - may be a day or so after it runs in the Daily News.

Also, I know the Messenger is also a Brown Publishing paper so there is a chance they will be running it as well.

I think Logan has a TALL test in front of them. The defense is going to have a hard time containing the Buckeye offense and I think the Buckeyes will be one of the best defenses we have faced.

It will take a great effort - I know how much this game means to the Nelsonville community and playing at Boston Field is ALWAYS incredibly difficult.

:122247 I have watched both teams play so far and to tell you the truth.. I'm not sure I can make an honest pick. Logan has 4 key players that I have seen, QB, Running Back and the two nice wide outs #10 and #33. Problem with logan offense is that although the line is decent size, they are prone to getting beat by small quick defense linement. The Running back I would say is pretty much a mirror image of NY's and is very quick and shifty on his feet and can turn on the jets when on open ground, however, I haven't really seen him power through yet. Now, the QB is decent, but makes very bad mistakes when pressured, instead of throwing the ball away and living to play another down, he forces it and that is trouble (which really showed in the 2nd half of the Jackson Game). The Logan fullback seemed to be pretty good. If the QB and the speedy wideouts get any kind of rythm, they will score quickly and a bunch.

Now, NY has a great QB, Running back and O-line, however, the they haven't seen a defensive line as big as Logans. This will be a serious test for them. NY's defense line is fast and furious, however, the defensive backs are really going to have to be on their toes, quick slants will be thrown atleast once every series in my opinion, then the long ball. If the safeties and corners get caught peaking, Logan QB will make them pay for it if he is not harassed, he does throw a pretty long ball.

If NY jumps on Logan quickly, I see it going south in a hurry. Only because I've seen the will power bleed away when Logan makes a couple of mistakes. But, if Logan hangs and plays without all the penalties and bonehead mistakes, it will be a monster game that will come down to whomever has the ball last. I hope that this game is injury free for all involved.

QB Edge: NY
Running Back: Even
Wide Receivers: Logan
O-Line: Even
D-Line: NY
Linebackers: NY
Defensive Backs: Even
Kicking Game: NY
Special Teams: NY

Good Luck to both teams

NY has won 2 of the 3 games I thought they would lose. Catholic is starting to win some games and get better, and Ready is not as bad as last year. Those points will help. Beating Logan is going to take an effort that I thought it would take to beat both of those Catholic Schools. If NY is looking at Logan's record, they will get pounded by 2-3 TD's. If they look at the team Logan has, plays focused, and limits every mistake possible, then they could win. I just don't see them winning because they have not been tested for all 4 quarters. The pressure may get to them late and Logan will run away from them. 42-27.

Locos go to the Athens Messenger link, they have a 2011 TVC preview and a good article on Nelsonville, among other things it mentions 6"4 receiver who runs a 4.5 forty and two 3 year starters on the line and a three year starter at QB,, Looks to me like they're pretty well loaded this year......

Looking back at old-school history, the Nelsonville Greyhounds and Logan Chieftans used to be a big day after Thanksgiving showdown, many years being played at the neutral site of Haydenville before it became a part of the Logan school district.

In addition to Logan-Nelsonville, other big SEOAL showdowns that day included: Pomeroy-Middleport, Wellston-Jackson, and Athens-Gallia Academy.

Looks like Logan played well against Jackson, it was good to see that....I mean no disrespect just a question for Logan faithful...as the program has not been at the same level as it was a few years ago, is the school working to downgrade the schedule some....I mean its great to say you're playing the toughest out of conference schedule around, but I just think of these kids starting out 0-3, etc and how tough it is mentally and physically....maybe just one of the early games, maybe two to get a less competitive opponent to get an early win?? At Warren we know about losing seasons and its tough to keep your head up week after week....good luck to both schools this week....

Of course they are bigger than NY. Logan should win because of that. If not, circle the wagons because their may not be a chief in Logan

I don't understand all this talk about Logan being so much bigger this year, sure Logan has a lot more students in the school but in terms of the team alone Nelsonville only has a few less then Logan 10-12 on the team,Logan's line might be a little heavier, but they're kind of smallish this year, and also Logan has tons of players going both ways this year so I think both teams are pretty even numbers wise,,I think they have potential to score score plenty of points but I don't think it will be enough with Logan's poor tackling habits Nelsonville should score 35 or more and if they don't it means they probably had tons of turnovers or penalties,I look for an interesting game.........

id give the 1st series of both offenses to see how this is going to go. i think our offense can move the ball but our defense cant stop a thing. they react to the ball tooooooooo late.
