This thread exists because someone that says they are from Oak Hill, which I highly doubt, said the only team in this area that can beat burg is east. He over took the Burg-Oak Hill thread so someone started this one so he could rant his idiocies somewhere besides on that thread. I think it had nothing to do with bashing east, but just to get this idiot out of the thread.

Too much attention is being paid to the Name of the school and not the Players that represent the School. East has players that would start on any team in this area(including burg). Keep talking about burgs speed, well their fastest guy is lucky to run a 4.5 40, not every kid they have is that fast. The difference would be in the coaching and discipline of East, they run a very predictable offense and have been very undisciplined. Burg doesn't make those mistakes. Also like I said the passing game and up-tempo offense would give East trouble (just because they're over aggressive to the run, including their DBs). As far as East Strength of schedule, who are they supposed to play as a small D7 school? Just as folk say burg needs to play better competition, who is burg supposed to schedule? A bunch of d2/3 schools? Just to make some former athletes happy and possibly see burg lose. This topic is really a joke, if folk didn't think it was a chance then they wouldn't have even commented. The way East has been penalized and the style offense being ran it probably would get bad but its not because Burgs athletes are that much more superior, at all. Its simply will boil down to coaching and discipline and attention to detail (burg wins all 3 categories) , you give burgs staff the Kids at east and east staff the kids at burg and you guys are saying the same thing based on what's happened to date. The difference is east has 2-3 kids that would play somewhere at burg, burg has 20-25 kids that would play somewhere at east.

Decent playoff game in 1991 between these 2 up in Waverly. That was supposed to be a 50-0 type game in favor of Wheelersburg too as the 91 Pirates were VERY good, but it wasn't. 20-6 was the final

Very True statement. Yes burg has a much bigger team and they are much more talented but East has great talent on there program and they arent to bad considering they basically have a fully new coaching staff. Lets not even get in to basketball please because we all know who would win if we want to be realistic.
