I don't think either team is far and away superior to the other. Whichever team makes the fewest mistakes will take home the win. Hopefully, playing at home will keep said mistakes to a minimum, and the Streaks will start the year 1-0.

take two weeks off here and look at the crap on here. My guess Piketon by 14. 26-12.

I hear West is loaded and being D5 should make a deep playoff run.

Back to topic - Waverly needs to come out tonight and strike quick. They also need to play smart, very few penalties - false starts, jumping off side (mental errors) can kill you. It doesn't look like very many are going with the young Tigers so it's time to go out and prove them wrong.

Sorry about that siderman, will make it allot tougher come playoff time but if West is as good and what I'm hearing they could still win a few playoff games.

It was 14-14 at halftime.
Waverly went up 20-14 and then Piketon scored to go up 21-20 with about 5 minutes to play. They scored again with just under 2 minutes from the Waverly 5 on 2nd down. I think Waverly let them score so they could get the ball back down 8 with more time on the clock then they would had Piketon ran more plays.

Waverly played their hearts out and played better than many expected. The Tigers may take their lumps this year but they will not quit and they will gain valuable experience for next season. With only 3 seniors and some first time players these guys will only get better.

Was very impressed with Kelly at QB and Levi Underwood at TB. Jake Knight plays a nice Guard and LB. Waverly very Young. Good clean game.

Nice win for the Streaks, overcame some adversity and made some big plays. Waverly played well at times also and made some big plays, thats the kinds of game I like to watch. Some nice offense, mixed in with some good defensive plays and hitting. Not like that marathon 2 years ago! lol

A great win by the Streaks. After halftime wasn't giving them much hope as the Tigers seemed to want it more. The defense stepped up and made some big stops, and the td pass from Brabson came from who-knows where. Will have to have more faith in the Red and Gray.

The tigers played a whale of a game. Nothing to be ashamed of. If they play every game with as much focus and intensity, they'll surprise some people.

Both teams battled it out for four quarters.
Piketon got the win, but the Waverly kids have nothing to hang their heads about.
Underwood for Waverly and #30 for Piketon may be the two hardest runners I have seen in the same game on opposing as I have seen in a long long time.
Penalties and turnovers happened but hey it's Week 1.
If Waverly's line can "gel" and give Kelly some time I think he can complete some passes. The D did let some receivers get behind them but hey its the first game.
Kudos to the Piketin kids they pulled it out. Hope My Tigers can get you some points this year.

Here is what I took away from the game.

1. Piketon is a very good football team and should be the favorite to win the SVC.
2. Piketon has a lot of very good football players strong and fast..
3. Piketon has good balance to be able to throw or run with their talent.
4. If they continue to play as they did Friday they could make a run at the playoffs
5. A lot of Senior's that could give the push they needed for the playoffs
Waverly
1. Very young, but play very hard.
2. If they continue to give that type of effort as they did Friday, by season's end they could be a nice football team.
3. I like this Waverly Team, saw lots of emotion and honest love of the game from them.
4. Enjoyed the way the coaching staff kept players upbeat and positive in good and bad situations.
5. Could be sleeper team next year.
