Turf and a little work to the field should allow Athens to host playoff games. I love Athens' field!

I think it will get us back in the mix. We hosted several games in the past until turf fields started to be installed all over and for good reason the ohsaa went with those sites for a more consistant surface.

They may be able to hold playoff games there but they wont ever be playing in them until they revamp the teams they play and quit losing to a d5 school every year.

revamp the teams?

They played CHILLICOTHE, WARREN, PARKERSBURG SOUTH, GALLIA ACADEMY & COAL GROVE!

ALL FIVE OF THOSE TEAMS WERE PRETTY DARN GOOD THIS SEASON - ADD ON TWO PLAYOFF TEAMS FROM THE TVC-OHIO - AND YOU HAVE A FAIRLY STRONG SCHEUDLE.

I think that is pretty week bunch of teams for a D2 school to not be dominateing. That just my opinion.

The program is still growing and took a step in the right direction with last seasons schedule changes. The schedule is nearly perfect for the state of the program currently and could be tweeked in the future if necessary. I think you'd find that most of the coaching staff and fan base aren't concerned as much about the playoffs as they are seeing the program grow in a positive way each year. There are many ways to measure success and for a program like Athens that has had more than their share of losing seasons and non-competitive teams over the last couple of decades the playoffs aren't one of them. Sure every team would like to make the playoffs every year but for now we'll go with "you gotta learn to crawl before you can learn to walk" .
