Re: Reg 23: 6.Barnesville (9-1) vs 2.Fort Frye (11-0)
Default
Fort Frye is lead by its 17 Srs. They went (35-5) Reg Season in 4 years ended with a 22 game reg season win streak. This is 3rd time this group has been to the playoffs with a (1-2) record in those. They became the first team ever to win a playoff game at the school and in Washington County. They are lead by RB Casey Lewis who has 1682 yards rushing and 33 Tds. Also Sr RB/WR Garrett Lochary who has 15 Total Tds. RB Leiton Stewart has 7 Tds since stepping in for injured Clay Baker. Sophomore QB Tate Engle comes in with a record of (21-1) as a starter and has thrown for around 1500 yards 18 Tds and 3 ints. They have won every game by 17 or more. Only playing one game into the 4th. They score 44 ppg and allow around 9. They have had 4 shutouts. Sr LB/WR Brady Carpenter is the leader on defense. They are deep up front especially on the DLine Sr DL- Jordan Baker 280,Owen Matheny 280, Caleb Kehl 310, and Jacob Prittchard are the stars of that DLine. Baker and Owen are the bookends and protect the QB well but there specialty is runblocking. Jacob will also be lined up at TE catching 3 Tds in the last 3 games.

I don't think this is true. I think this group was the last team in the morgan leagues if I remember correctlyEasternDspy wrote:This is the field that most these Srs played first ever peewee game on

OHSAA must have owed FF a favor. Think this will be a tight one.

The thing that just keeps coming up is that Barnesville lost 54-50 to Trail. Fort Frye beat them 39-0.

The fact is spy, is that Barnesville seen BT at their very best. We seen BT at their very worse. BT was healthy when I watched them play Barnesville, they were not healthy against us. I think we win but I wouldn't use that game.

It's not that they lost its that they let up 54 points and over 500 yards. I didn't see every games total yardage but the most I saw Fort allowed in a game was 230.
Re: Reg 23: 6.Barnesville (9-1) vs 2.Fort Frye (11-0)
Good game site. It is close enough that, if Barnesville fans want to travel, they will be there in force.
I feel like The Shamrocks are capable of winning, but Fort Frye should be favored.

Barnesville was having a hard time finding 55 fans to get a charter bus to Peake. This game is a lot closer I'm sure they will have some fans wouldn't be susprised if Fort doubles them in fans.

BT averaged 29.2 ppg, while being shut out by dominant Defenses of Ridgewood and FF and only scoring 7 against River, all three teams playoff teams.EasternDspy wrote:The thing that just keeps coming up is that Barnesville lost 54-50 to Trail. Fort Frye beat them 39-0.
That's why I say this could be the highest scoring game in the state this week... if FF can slow down Barnesville they win, and for the record I think they do. If they can't both teas score 50... FF will score at will this week imo.
My prediction FF 56 Barnesville 28.... tho I'm rooting for the rocks

Re: Reg 23: 6.Barnesville (9-1) vs 2.Fort Frye (11-0)
Agree I don't see Fort Frye struggling to put points on the board....I will say (even though you'll obviously take 6 points whenever you can get them) it would be a good idea for the Fort to hog the ball for as long as possible... maybe wait till the play clock starts to send the play in.
I don't want to call Barnesville a one man team, I'm not going to and I don't think they are, but stating the obvious it is still critical to shut down Bunfill. I realize Barnesville can throw, but if I'm the Cadets I'm still forcing the Rocks to throw the ball.
I'm predicting both teams try to establish a ground game which kills the clock a bit much for a combined score total of 80 points.
Fort Frye 42
Barnesville 21

Re: Reg 23: 6.Barnesville (9-1) vs 2.Fort Frye (11-0)
On thing that hurt the defense vs Ivey was how bad Caldwell was on defense. Fort Frye would score in 1-3 plays then Caldwell would pound it out for up 12 plays wearing down the defense. The good thing is that the Cadets are extremely deep on that defensive line and rotate to keep players fresh. I don't think the Cadets need to run the clock I mean maybe if they get a lead but their offense is really good. They need to avoid turnovers. If Barnesville tries to stack the box let Engle spread it out to Carpenter,Prittchard,Stewart and Lochary.
