I guess I have to defend myself on here now.lolsvcbaseballfan wrote:Thanks for the support Gene-O.
What I said when I gave the score was
I am shocked by this score, I figured they would beat VC soundly ( and they did)
then I looked at Redstreak Rob and said jokingly that it didnt hurt my feelings.lol
It was a joke. I always root for SVC against nonleague even UNioto.lol
Besides I like Hudnell and hope he turns the program around.

Congrats to the Streaks! Might have been sloppy, but a win is a win is a win! lol

Good win for the Streaks!
I am guessing Mean Gene does not like working at Unioto. ha!

Go stir your pot somewhere else. This is about Piketon/Waverly game not me.
Re: Week 1 Piketon @ Waverly August 26th
Relax Mean Gene, it just struck me as an interesting statement for a teacher to make about a team of kids at his school on the radio.
Not stirring the pot, just made me do a double take.
I could care less about Unioto, I am a Redstreak.
On to week 2!

I do root for the kids there except when they play my Redstreaks.
I agree need to now focus on the Vikings.

Congratulations to Piketon.
For fans who where able to attend the game, was Waverly actually improved in
terms of being physical along both lines of scrimmage? If so, is Waverly facing a mental
block in terms of re-learning how to win? The Tiger schedule does not get any easier.

well qb was sacked 8 times i believe? dont know exactly how many tackles for a loss total? More physical well they are bigger but that doesnt always mean better. Mental Block no, to easy of scrimmages preseason YES.
on a side note why is the only running back they have out in the slot or the wing sorry guys but 14 is a beast and should be the featured back PERIOD hes BIGGER STRONGER FASTER than any back on your roster. If when you have to run the ball you have to switch formations to the I and run a 30 dive then you have featured the wrong guy.

Saw Piketon's speed in the second half but both teams played sloppy in the first half. Piketon And waverly games are always the best to watch. A bunch of good players on both sides. Best game me the year every year. Piketon get ready for venton co. And waverly get ready for jackson. Good year for both teams
Re: Week 1 Piketon @ Waverly August 26th
This was one of the worst high school football games I have ever seen. I hope it gets better for both teams from here on out.

Nice job by the streaks on the win. Waverly played sloppy and shot themselves in the foot. Definitely room for improvement by the tigers. It won't get any easier when they travel to jackson next friday. Best of luck to the streaks the rest of the season.
Re: Week 1 Piketon @ Waverly August 26th
Sloppy game? Yes. Could be due to: first game of season; county rivalry; several new starters. Liked how both teams played hard down to the last play. Turning point was the Waverly fumble on the last play before halftime, then Waddell returning the 2nd half kickoff for a TD. Piketon's defense played as hard and as aggressively as I've seen them play in a long time. Would like to have Ward in the Streaks backfield, the kid can play. 1-0 to start, now ready for Vinton County. GO STREAKS!
