Re: Wellston Coach
Why? if they come in and win 7 games they'll leave to the first offer.. Wellston should have told coach hinton to name his price. 2 playoffs in team history and both under him..

Now, now, now, now mentality,
Me, me, me, me, mentality,
Results are obvious.
Patience, patience, patience mentality,
Us, us, us, team, team team mentality,
Results will be different.
Not gonna happen overnight and everyone needs to understand that. Change the immediate outlook and attitude to one that is longer term and positive. Which class (parents) is/are willing to step up and put the work in knowing the results or personal accolades may not come for them or their kids, but might for future players.
Find someone that tunes out the external noise and focuses on the process. Easier said than done...obviously.
Going through this hiring process again says something. Read between the lines.

I can't match the motivational superiority of a coach like "Dutch." But I've heard a proven winner from the Logan area is in the mix, so did you apply?LHS 72 wrote:Did you apply!!!!!!~Ground Buck wrote:Is "Dutch" in the running? If not he should be. So, any news? Is "Dutch" still in it? How about the "proven winner" from Logan?hsfbfan wrote:Interviews this week. A hire may be very soon

One of the chunky mom's stopped by the store. On her second piece of cheesecake she said she wished they had not listened to her and just kept dutch.
The BEST thing about people from Wellston is that they have JACKSON on their license plates!
Re: Wellston Coach
Jay Lucas has verbally accepted the job. Will be made official at February 13th board meeting

Re: Wellston Coach
Boy that sure was an original post.. smh, this is about a coaching hire not week 1. Get over yourself. I do remember a year 1 coach in the recent past that brought a team in and beat the snot out of the team almost 2 divisions larger. We all know Jackson is the greatest when it comes to Wellston Vs. Jackson, how bout you go try to beat Wheelersburg or Nelsonville. Doubt you could do it, Wellston isn't the cream of the crop in football so don't brag about beating a team that is down.JacksonMayor wrote:Doesnt matter who they hire. Look for them to start the season 0-1.

Have to agree with you since Jackson backed out of a scrimmage against NY recently. So I doubt they'll be scheduling them any time soon.Thelongwindedanswer wrote:Boy that sure was an original post.. smh, this is about a coaching hire not week 1. Get over yourself. Re: Wellston Coach
Also, Coach Lucas was hired at last nights board meeting on a 4-1 vote. His father will be an assistant, now hopefully the boys can get in the weight room and focus on the upcoming season.
