9/12 - Ironton (1-1) @ Amanda CC (2-0)

Much cooler weather than week 1 will help the big Ironton linemen, but I still think they need a break from playing both ways.

Lets think about this logically on this forum we have talked and talked about the smaller enrollment for Ironton. How they don't have the talent they used to have because the towns smaller, and all that stuff. Yet a lot of you guys are saying we need to get away from playing both ways and need more guys to play and everything. Does anyone not see the contradiction here beside me?

My logic for not playing both ways is because they are out of shape. A gassed 6'5", 300 lb. lineman is not of any more value than a 5'11", 200 lb. lineman in the 4th quarter. Maybe the smaller guys could actually perform better if they have some desire to prove themself. At any rate, having the big guys with some legs left in the second half could result in another score.

I agree with 4th n Goal, Ironton has more depth this year than the last few years because of the large JR Class, there's guys that are sitting on the bench that can help out on Defense with out a lot of drop off, especially if the big guys are gassed.

What am I missing here? I know AC has a good history like IRONTON as I usually see them ranked highly in the computer rankings & know they won the state championship the same year as IHS. What I do not get is the reference to hinton.
Is it a misprint on a hint on... Something? Like a "hint-on"...the pit?
Has the heat of Florida for the past 18-years fried my noggin?
Help me out fans who stayed in the the heavenly tri-state!!! Missing it more & more each year!!! Especially 'bout now!

Ironton won the state in 1979 (AA). and 1989 (Div 3)...........

Amanda won the state in 1999 (Div 5)) and 2000 (Div 5)
