I have to disagree with you Blue Duck. This game here, Jackson vs Wellston will come down to which team has more heart..

In these kind of match-ups/situations you can throw everything out of the window. Size, speed, height, weight, etc all of that doesn't matter in a rivalry game. What it comes down to is which team has the most heart and which team absolutely wants it more.

Jackson will win this game walking away.....

Wellston may have heart, but they don't have the talent to stay with Jackson.
Both teams want it, neither team is going to mail it in before kickoff so it comes down to talent and toughness and the Ironmen have a lot more of both.

O&B is correct. JacksonI is funny. Heart does not beat talent, size, speed. Every team playing on Friday nites has heart or they wouldnt be playing. If you dont have the Jimmys and Joes then you have no chance. Period

Instead of playing the first game of the season, they should play the 9th or tenth game.
Then each team would have more experience than the first game.

Blue Duck wrote:Both of Wellston's backs are sophomores and will be solid this year. However,.. This game will not be determined by the skill position. Wellston's O Line has to be able to block Jackson's front. In 2010 Wellston out played Jackson up front therefore they got the victory. Keep the ball on the field and out of jackson's hands. Wellston cannot afford to have multiple 3 and outs and turnovers. This game is won up front,.. If the Skill players determined the outcome of this game the best Running Back in Jackson county history would not be 0-4 against Jackson.
Duck, my "sources " tell me that's the smartest thing you've ever said

Good Luck to the Rockets. I hope both teams have an injury free game and great seasons.

Quite possibly the dumbest thing I've ever read.

Jackson wins without issue. It's more important for both teams to get everyone some game time experience when the game is out of reach early.

If wellston can force Jackson into a few early game turnovers and capitalize with a couple touchdowns, it could be interesting for 2 or 3 quarters. With they way the ironmen have played this pre season, they will be hard to beat in 4 quarters.

Look for the Rockets to take some chances and gain some home field momentum. Wouldn't be surprised to see some onside kicks, fake punts, flea flickers or half-back passes offensively. Defensively they will look to strip the ball some run blitzes and press us into mistakes or get us frustrated.

If that works then anything can happen, if it doesn't then over the course of the game I like our chances.

Supposed to pretty warm so we will see who is better conditioned team tonight as well.

At the game. If you aren't here yet, don't bother. Seats are full and most of the fence is surrounded. Lol I'm right behind the goal post. My luck the football will get me, or the guys jumping out of the plane. Lo
