All three of those teams had great senior leadership and tons of experience. The big key will be putting the puzzle together to get 11 guys to know and do their job on defense and fly to the ball and hit and tackle. Biggest thing will be who shows up in August able to play.

Jackson is adding Chillicothe to its schedule replacing waverly in week 2 starting in 2015. This is a great thing for the program.

Definitely like that move.

Any word on a Week 4 game for 2014 yet?

Word is that the TVC turned down all that is left of the SEOAL to join the league. Now what??

If they plan things right the SEOAL will be fine.Like someone said they could even play a home and home football schedule until someone is found.

A home and home would be intriguing...how bad though would that effect Play-Off points? Say you sweep a team, that guarantee's you two wins, but also the team you swept has two loses...

I care because I'm not a close-minded idiot...
I played against the four teams that are left. I played in the SEOAL when it was in the Prime of its life...
Just because I may coach in one league it doesn't mean I have to automatically hate the rest...

Thinking back to my playing days, I would have loved to remove the RV game and replace that with two Jackson battles or two Logan battles...one home and one away like every other sport...its intriguing like I said...but in the long run I think it would hurt Play-Off points...

Noreply- since we can converse like adults...

Do you know the benefits/disadvantages of playing a home-and-home?

Now that you mention that, I like the idea more and more, but I just see it hurting Points for play-offs...

I assume that jab was at me? Lol. Playoff points would be very interesting. As would preperations , would game plans change? I would liked for jackson to play Logan again last year. It may have to work for awhile

Someone else brought the home and home games up. I guess it has been done before in other leagues. The play off points probably depend on how the teams are doing. I don't look for it to happen because the cards are telling me great things are in the future for SEOAL teams.

I sure hope so ! Our teams need and deserve a competitive type league. The TVC snub was a blessing in disguise. Maybe instead of elevating the TVC we become them. The Logan Jackson game last year was a super game. I would love to see what round 2 would look like

In 1932 Athens played Nelsonville twice and both games counted in the league standings.

Prior to 1933 the league changed the rule stating that only one game vs each team could count toward the standings.

Obviously the league by-laws have been re-written since then, and could be again, but I believe that is the ONLY time SEOAL schools have met each other more than once in a season since the league started play in 1925.

In an attempt to slow down these high powered offenses (West Jeff, Wheelersburg, and eventually Athens) Jackson has to put out 11 athletes who can run and make tackles. Now there are many options. D-line: Rawlins, woolum, cooper, Humphreys, Fairchild. Linebackers: Williams, Potter, Bachtel, Staten, Barger, Massie. Corners: Edwards, Fitch, Griffiths, Rafferty, Cantor, Conley, Sloop. Safeties: Sexton, Conley, Burd (if he plays), Griffiths, Rafferty. It'll be interesting what group of 11 Coach Andy Hall puts out on the field. Too much talent to underachieve like the past two seasons.

Dont think its underachieving when you play as many freshmen and soph as they have played the last 2 seasons. Cant win at that level being that young. Maybe in D7 but not in D3

There were a lot of freshmen playing last year, but I'm a firm believer in the best 11 on the field, regardless of age. If those freshmen and sophomores were put on the field, it was because they were the best option. IMO that means they need to step up and play to the level expected of them, not only by the coaching staff and of their teammates, but of the community. If you play for the Jackson Ironmen, everyone in the town knows who you are, and with Jackson's legacy of being a football powerhouse, the community expects 1-2 loss seasons every year. I, for one, am apart of that community who expects nothing less than greatness from the upcoming senior and junior class. Too much hype through the lower levels to come out with possibly 1 league championship

I would agree with that. I dont buy into any of the Hype though, either a team produces or they dont. Hype is just something we the fans like to talk about.
