Bellaire has a tough schedule I say they finish 7-3 in 6-8 spot.

I don't know much about Shadyside, Indian Creek, Union Local, or Ferry, but they are all 2-0 and bigger schools than Bellaire. I know that St. Clairsville still has some D1 talent, so that will be an uphill battle.

Bellaire is going to need to win a couple of those.

The Steubenville Central loss really has put Bellaire behind the eight ball. SCC is a very good team, but no one thought Bellaire would lose to them. You guys are correct, Bellaire must beat two of the three St.C, Ferry and IC and not get upset by anyone else to finish hosting. Next week game, Edison, is a very distinct possibility of upset. Buckeye Local and UL really don't appear to be capable of a win against Bell. A loss to Shadyside could keep Bellaire out of the playoffs completely.

That is very true. Bellaire has a ton of points on the schedule but they will have to win some of them, or basketball season will start early.

As a Cadet fan I want to play Oak Hill. Fort Frye could win 10 games and still end up on the road not many points to be had. In week 9 and 10 they play @ Shenandoah and Rosecrans both those teams are going 0-10. Fort Fryes best win might end up being Belpre.

I would keep an eye on Bishop Ready when I saw them vs Burg I saw no weakness on either side of the ball

I honestly think Ready and Valley are heads better then everyone else. If I had to rank them on who is the best not how they will finish I would say.. 1. Ready 2. Valley 3. Newark Cath 4. Centerburg 5. Bellaire 6. Oak Hill 7. Ridgewood 8. Fort Frye

I can see the argument for Ready being the best team in the region. There is a lot of football left to be played in this region.

Agree, Ready until they are beaten. Sunday starts our outlook and opinions until week four games. Myself, I want to keep a closer eye on Centerburg.

Week 3 Games:

Valley @ Coal Grove
Rock Hill @ Oak Hill
Briggs @ Ready
Danville @ Centerburg
Fort Frye @ Waterford
Shadyside @ Bellaire
Hannan (WV) @ Federal Hocking
Fisher Catholic @ Newark Catholic
Riverview @ Ridgewood
Belpre @ Southern
Crooksville @ Tri-Valley
Northmor @ Lucas
North Union @ Col. Academy *** North Union won this one in OT 30-24 ***North Union is #9 in Division 5**Academy will be a factor in R21
Barnesville @ Union Local
Berne Union @ Nelsonville
Frontier @ Buckeye Trail
Cardington-Lincoln @ Buckeye Valley
East Knox @ Mount Gilead
Fredricktown @ Utica
Fairfield Christian Academy @ Grandview Heights
Huntington @ Northwest
Monroe Central @ River
Meadowbrook @ Shenandoah

Big games for Valley, Centerburg, and Bellaire. I think this region may start to thin out in the next couple of weeks.

The playoff picture is already starting to take shape. There just doesn't seem to be much parity in this region. Huge differences in location and talent.

I tend to argee. There may be a couple of severe mismatches in this region, but I feel like whoever wins the region will have a decent chance (depending on the match-up) to get to Stark County. Region 19 has Kirtland. Region 20 has Ada, LCC, Colonial Crawford, and Patrick Henry. Region 22 doesn't seem to have a powerhouse (although CCD may be very good) as the 4 MAC teams are a combined 1-7 and some of them will not see week 11.

-Ready looks like they are going to roll. There are very few speed bumps between now and the matchup with Hartley.
-Centerburg got a huge OT win over Danville. It looks like they could run the table.
-Valley dominated Coal Grove. If they come to play, they will roll into week 9 at Wheelersburg unbeaten.
-Oak Hill stayed undefeated but the competition remained soft. We will see what they have in week 5 against Minford.
-Fort Frye looks like a win over Monroe Central is between them an a perfect record. Oppenent record is 8-22 so far.
-Ridgewood is 2-1 but hard to get a read on them yet. Their schedule says they will be in the mix.
-Fed Hock crushes another poor team. Max is still 7 wins and I don't see that being a factor.
-Newark Catholic wins again. They will be right there and their schedule has plenty of points left.
-Northmor won a close game over an 0-3 Lucas team. If they hang with Centerburg, it will get my attention.
-Bellaire is in trouble. They are probably going to need an upset somewhere along the line. I think they are top 8,but won't make the postseason.
-Fredricktown is still very much in it. May need to beat either Centerburg or North Union, but they will have chances.
-Buckeye Trail got a win, but there aren't many points left on the board. They would have to beat Fort Frye.
-Grandview Heights is in the win column, but they will have to win the next 2 to creep back in the picture.
-East Knox beats Mt. Gilead but they have some work to do. There are some points left, so a couple of big wins and they are in the conversation.
-Monroe Central's first 2 losses don't look all that bad now, but there are some bad teams left. Gonna need to win out.
-Nelsonville broke into the win column, but unless they upset the mighty Athens Bulldogs in week 10, there won't be week 11.
-Belpre lost again,so there ceiling is 6 wins. Don't see them being a factor.
-Academy looks to be a pretty solid team, but they are behind the 8-ball and would need to pull an upset.
-Crooksville has a ton of points left on the schedule but it doesn't look like they can win many of those games.

I don't see any way any of the winless teams play there way back into the playoff races.

If I had to guess, I would say we are down to about 14 teams with a chance at the playoffs. Northmor, Grandview Heights, and possibly East Knox may affect that number next week.

Ok to me you got 6 locks in no order Centerburg, Ready, Valley , Fort , Newark Catholic, and Oak Hill. All will get 8 plus wins except maybe Catholic but they are a lock at 7. Real question is if Fort Frye goes (10-0) will they get passed by a 9 win Centerburg, Valley , or Ready ? I think so because of Fort Fryes lack of schedule. Now spots 7 and 8 are wide open I think Monroe Central can get in at 7 wins. I think 1 or 2 teams might make it with 6 wins. I got Ridgewood, Bellaire, Fredricktown, and Belpre all 6-4. Bellaire with a good shot at 5-5. Overall this is a easy region to make the playoffs. You can almost lock Valley , Catholic , and Ready into 2nd rd.

I pretty much agree with your 6. I wouldn't however call Oak Hill a lock. I don't see them beating Minford and they could lose to Notre Dame and or Ironton as both of those games are on the road. The Oaks are looking at maybe 2 wins from Chesapeake, 1 or 2 from Rock Hill, 2-4 from Wellston, 1-2 from East and so on. Oak Hill may need to beat ND, Minford, or Ironton to feel comfortable.

As far as Fort Frye getting passed, it is hard to say without going through and seeing how a couple of their out of state opponents end up. Just making a guess, I will say a 9 win Valley team finishes ahead of them. 9 wins for the Indians means they beat either Burg or Minford. That would be a ton of points for them. Ready would be ahead of them with 9 wins as well. Ready may finish #1 will 9 wins and with Bexley and Miami Trace both starting strong, 8 wins will probably have Ready at home week 11. Centerburg should feast on 2nd level points from Danville. It will take a few weeks to start projecting order.
