It's time for those in power to earn some of that large amount of coin they are be paid.

Anyone else have little faith in those in charge, doing what needs to be done?

I think the real numbers will show that nearly every school district in southeastern Ohio is shrinking in size. Otherwise, where are all of the new jobs that would have had to have magically appeared to have such high gains of students in most of these districts?

The numbers provided to the OHSAA by ODE were way off. I think it is a shame to release these numbers then make everyone appeal to have their enrollment figures corrected. Our school has already appealled as have many others. Seems it would have been easier to reload the corrected data all at once instead of dealing with 100's of appeals.

The schools submits all numbers preschool through 12 grade and any other students who are still in school even if they are over the age limit because of IEP's through its EMIS computer system. ODE then pulls those numbers for the Ohsaa for grades 9-11. There is a time limit during October and after to get ODE to fix this, however most schools dont pay attention at that time.

We have crunched the numbers several times and we cannot recreate how they came up with Piketons number for boys and girls. We have submitted our appeal.

Schools do not pay attention because their funding is partially based on a per pupil. Funny on one end they are going to lobby for "more" students, then on the other end for less students.

Trust me, very few schools are going to lobby for less students to stay low on the ohsaa enrollment numbers if it means losing about 6 grand per kid! lol

I guarantee the ODE and the State arent going to pay all of these schools for anything above what is actually out there. I have looked at the K report that ODE pulls and it doesnt match what ohsaa says it should.

Well that memo seems straight forward and honest enough.

Piketons October count straight from emis is nearly 30+ difference in both boys and girls. So if the schools submitted them to ODE, and ODE gave them to the Ohsaa then you dont have to be Sherlock Holmes to deduce that the problem lies somewhere in the middle! lol

Piketons appeal has been submitted, if we are going to be assigned the 197 boys versus 162 by our count, then we want that extra money from ODE! lol

A few samplings of the numbers reported by the ODE and what OHSAA is putting out.

Athens.......... - ODE (391) - OHSAA (297) to (297) - all 4 grades reported by ODE --------- OHSAA had 297 the last count and 297 this count ???
Chillicothe..... - ODE (488) - OHSAA (339) to (548) - all 4 grades reported by ODE
Gallia Acad.... - ODE (333) - OHSAA (258) to (307) - all 4 grades reported by ODE
Hillsboro....... - ODE (411) - OHSAA (302) to (335) - all 4 grades reported by ODE
Ironton......... - ODE (228) - OHSAA (174) to (238) - all 4 grades reported by ODE
Logan............ ODE (629) - OHSAA (478) to (515) - all 4 grades reported by ODE
Wellston......... ODE (243) - OHSAA (188) to (206) - all 4 grades reported by ODE
Chesapeake..... ODE (229) - OHSAA (187) to (270) - all 4 grades reported by ODE
Coal Grove...... ODE (192) - OHSAA (136) to (205) - all 4 grades reported by ODE
Meigs............. ODE (192) - OHSAA (209) to (209) - all 4 grades reported by ODE----------- OHSAA had 209 the last count and 209 this count ???
Fairland......... ODE (271) - OHSAA (235) to (234) - all 4 grades reported by ODE
Minford.......... ODE (266) - OHSAA (187) to (282) - all 4 grades reported by ODE
Waverly......... ODE (286) - OHSAA (235) to (241) - all 4 grades reported by ODE
Valley........... ODE (164) - OHSAA (126) to (155) - all 4 grades reported by ODE
Green........... ODE (140) - OHSAA (64) to (81) ---- all 4 grades reported by ODE
Portsm West... ODE (244) - OHSAA (162) to (217) - all 4 grades reported by ODE
Wheelersburg.. ODE (227) - OHSAA (155) to (183) - all 4 grades reported by ODE
Vinton CO...... ODE (380) - OHSAA (271) to (345) - all 4 grades reported by ODE
Zane Trace..... ODE (258) - OHSAA (191) to (283) - all 4 grades reported by ODE
Northwest...... ODE (257) - OHSAA (187) to (253) - all 4 grades reported by ODE

Who do the Private schools report their numbers to? Do they report them straight to OHSAA, I don't see them in the ODE report.

I have a question/comment. I thought the public/private vote will be happening soon. If that passes, won't that cause problems as well since there will be fewer schools overall?

I see that they changed the appeal due date from May 6 to May 10. This must be to handle the large amount of appeals coming in....
