They lost 5 seniors, 2 who started, they are loaded this year. This game is at Caldwell, the game is played at the Noble County fairgrounds, a unique environment but not a nice stadium or field.

Ridgewood is located near Coshocton. They were D6 R21 last year and went 9-1 in the regular season. They lost to Centerburg 21-13 in the first round of the playoffs. No idea what they have coming back, but they used to be a regular playoff entry.

Ptguard, as a heads up you're referring to a school called "Ridgewood" when Waverly is playing a school called "Ridgedale".

Ridgedale is north of Marion. They are a d7 school that has won three games in the past two years and got absolutely hizzammerd in eight of their games last year, with two wins coming against a school that did not do OHSAA football for years (St. Wendelin, who happens to be a school Rock HIll is playing) and a perennially awful Crestline.

Waverly should be able to beat Ridgedale.

The turf has arrived. Installation begins any day now. Fascinating watching the entire process come together. Waverly is going to have a very nice facility when this is finished.

Are there pictures documenting the progress anywhere? I watched the process at Burg a few years ago, but it is still interesting to see.

I take photos every day and post them to Facebook. I don't know how to post them here. Look me up on Facebook.

A NEW long jump and high jump is being built beside the tennis courts, concrete was poured today.
After the concrete was completed the crew was back to the field to spread, grade and compact more sand which is nearly complete.
The first roll of turf could roll out as soon as Sunday afternoon or Monday, depending on the readiness of the field.

The pictures look great!

What are they doing with any scraps when they have to cut near the edges? In some pictures it looks like there is enough to cover a portable pitching mound or make a batting stance mat. It would be nice to have those size scraps if they are just throwing them away.

TheFlush,

Will be discussing options for the excess pieces, possibly sell pieces. They actually used some of the "bigger" pieces you see in the photos. One would think it was waste/excess but it was actually used.

smurray,

I know the baseball team at Waverly has expressed interest. I'm sure the school would rather keep it inside of waverly athletics rather than sell or give away scraps to those outside the waverly athletic department.

BadVlad27,

Using some for baseball would be awesome. I don't know how much will be left and what sizes they will be. I know rather than it going in the dumpster we can make use if it for sure.

The new turf is nearing completion but the work at the downtown athletic complex continues. New fencing around the track and perimeter will be installed, areas being concreted around the track, completing the new long jump and high jump construction as well as moving the discus area, resurfacing the track, as well as continued work on Hawhee's Palace, the Downtown Arena.
Gonna be one sweet complex when completed.

With the addition of the fencing, will this open up the school to host playoff games? If so, that would be very nice.

FIDO,
The school has already been contacted. If it doesn't happen this year it will for sure next year.
