I would think that they would practice on turf one day this week. I would be a little bit surprised if they did it more then 1 day. Not that I necessarily think it would be a bad idea. But with the way they run there practices I am not sure it would be beneficial to go more then 1 day. Or maybe a day and then a walk through1coldplayer wrote: ↑Mon Oct 29, 2018 6:19 pm I believe Gallia is practicing at Oak Hill this week also.

I am shocked this game was moved. I think it was a great idea and I think gives the blue devils a better chance to win. But man are they going to hear flack all week from the community.

I can't disagree with one thing you said.

What about the gate proceeds?
I know the school benefits more from tickets sold at the school.
I think it is a bad move to give up home field, regardless.
What about those kids in town that walk to the home games?
Bad move, period.

Who benefits from this?
The team?
The athletic boosters?
The band boosters?
The faithful fans?
Jackson?

Have you not heard Gallipolis whining for 8 weeks now about how Jackson cheated them?
No thanks, I’ll pass on supporting them.

Every ticket but on sight at OHSAA playoff game 100% of money goes to OHSAA a ticket sold at school
That school gets to keep 2 or 3 dollars. Rest of money goes to OHSSA. Then pays ticket sellers, refs and whoever else. Host school gets something for electric and clean up. OHSAA mileage reimbursements so much per mile and if you travel over so far so much for kid for one meal. There is a reimbursement for bands and cheerleaders also.

I mean even if you run a 50/50 raffle at a playoff game the 50% the fan doesn’t win has to go to OSHHA. Now they do put it in some special fun for schlorships or something. But the only people really losing anything here is the boosters. And yes that is a big deal.
But I am not positive but I think even if you sell programs most of the money goes to OHSAA

I think it's a great move personally. better field conditions for sure will allow the boys in blue to maximize their potential. They are also fairly comfortable with the stadium in general.svac83 wrote: ↑Mon Oct 29, 2018 5:11 pmThe school administration and a couple of coaches who have been breaking down licking valley tape since the ironton game..... really the only money school missing out on here is on concessions...BlueLion4Life wrote: ↑Mon Oct 29, 2018 4:41 pm The decision was made by the school administration. My wife works there and it’s also posted on the GAHS FB page.
my opinion on this game was 80% chance of a little cling County win at memorial field to a 60% chance by moving this game to a place where blue devils can use entire play book.
Blue devils will still put 3 or 4K fans in stands the 30 minute trip to Jackson will not deter many.
It will just be really weird to set in home side bleachers at Jackson.

I think the move is fine. Thank you Jackson for the loan of the field. Hope to see lots of JI shirts in the stands. After you all take care of business in Granville.

I think both teams will benefit and then neither can use the mud field as an excuse. I still don't think games should be moved out of county though. Jackson has the best of both world's this week. Smart move.

Jackson supports the Blue Devils because without us winning 9 games they wouldn't be in the playoffs.
Re: Region 15 #7 Licking Valley @ #2 Gallia Academy
Ignore all the stupid banter , Jackson will treat the blue devils like kings . Jackson has much respect for Gallia academy . Good luck devils !

I like the move. That field would have been a mud game
Re: Region 15 #7 Licking Valley @ #2 Gallia Academy
If a move has to be made, I would think that a Turf field would be the most important thing to be looking for at this stage of the season. I saw where River Valley was mentioned earlier. They may have Turf now, but a few years ago they had grass. Also being a playoff game, is the stadium large enough to handle the crowd? A lot of teams with grass fields are having the same problems because of all the rain that we have gotten.FANOSPORTS wrote: ↑Mon Oct 29, 2018 8:34 pm I think both teams will benefit and then neither can use the mud field as an excuse.
