Varsity band. 100 plus. Logan has a junior high band, but they don't play at games etc. Don't know about Jackson, but they have a Varsity band just as big as Logan's. Looks like they will have to take upper classmen band members only to away games. Who know's, but we will soon see.wobycat wrote: ↑Tue Aug 18, 2020 4:02 pmJV band?indianabuck wrote: ↑Tue Aug 18, 2020 4:00 pmDewine said by the end of the week he will have guidance for performing arts, which include bands. As so many of us celebrate this outstanding news..... should someone be checking on those on the board who's hair may be on fire right now?

Dewine said the mandatory testing was never meant to be for high school kids.blueskin wrote: ↑Tue Aug 18, 2020 3:36 pmThat's what I was waiting to hear. It's my understanding that the SVC will only play if there is no testing,MasterOfNone wrote: ↑Tue Aug 18, 2020 2:57 pm
Never heard him mention no testing, so hopefully that will not be in there.

There won't be any spring playoffs. He is talking about Columbus City or Cleveland Senate league wanting to just play against each other.2trap_4ever wrote: ↑Tue Aug 18, 2020 3:14 pm Will there be two set of playoffs, one for the fall and another for those teams that decide to go with spring ball?

On the subject of marching band at games, Coal Groves band is only doing home games this year from my understanding. I’m curious about how schools will handle the number of spectators per athletes, band members and cheerleaders. I just feel bad for the students, parents and the schools. The unfortunate thing about this is, football is where a big portion of the athletic and band revenue comes from. Between ticket sales, concessions, etc.

I could see some HS bands taking a "pep" band on the road games. No more than 10-15 band members. Guessing that is like bb games?
At least that is what I am hearing down here in NW Fla. And we have some HS bands with 120+ members...not counting majorettes and flag twirlers.

I saw online the Marching Chieftain “Rah Rah” Day performance they did yesterday on the field at Chieftain Stadium. Unfortunately, I counted 70 kids max.TRENCHFOOT wrote: ↑Tue Aug 18, 2020 4:25 pmVarsity band. 100 plus. Ohsaa needs that money. I know they said that all top seeded playoff games would be held at home until final 4. I think they should play in huge stadiums so they can social distance and get everyone in.petesweaty wrote: ↑Tue Aug 18, 2020 5:08 pm Yes, there will be fans on Week 7.
