The voters continue to show it is only about wins and losses. Don't sleep on East Knox, they are a very physical team. IMO, it is either them or Newark Catholic that gets out of R27 this year. Danville is coming, but still a year away.
Sadly, you’re right about that. To not have East Knox in there, that’s crazy. Obviously we know Marion Local will be the ones that come out on top, but my second pick would be East Knox and third would be Lima Central Catholic.
100% agree about LCC. When they get back to full strength, watch out. They are a blur offensively. They ended up in R26, so you will likely see them vs Marion Local or Fort Loramie in the state semis.

If I had to rank R27 today:
1. East Knox
2. Newark Catholic
3. Berne Union
4. Trimble
5. Danville
6. Frontier
7. Caldwell
8. Beaver Eastern
9. Reedsville Eastern
10. Waterford
11. Cardington
12. River

My top 4 would be NC, EK, Danville and Trimble. Knock Trimble’s schedule all you want but they just win.

I can see swapping Danville and BU. I put BU at 3 because they have been destroying teams. I realize their schedule has been pretty weak. I think Danville vs BU would be a dandy of a game.

How are playoff games going to be paired up? Top seed vs Lowest seed and so on?

If this region stays at 24 teams (teams still have until Thursday to opt out), top 8 get a bye then 9 vs 24, 10 vs 23 and so on.

I agree with some of this, strongly disagree with other parts. Based off recent playoff success, tradition, common opponents, strength of schedule and current records there are some to high and some to low, IMO.

No argument against EK or NC at or near the top but River and Shadyside are top 5 in this region. Their SOS is the difference. I’m sure Berne has a nice team but they have played fisher, fca, rosecrans and Miller. Frontier is in the same boat. River smacked Monroe who played a tight one with Caldwell. Caldwell handled eastern who gave Trimble all they want and beat Waterford. I understand matchups and conditions matter but based on recent history I’d say Shadyside and River join Trimble, NC and EK in the top portion of this region

Berne does have a nice team but there isn’t a litmus test until this week vs Caldwell. We’re really down this year compared to last year, so beating us means nothing.

I totally skipped over Shadyside. I would agree they are in the top of this region too. Their schedule has been brutal and not many will want a piece of them come playoffa. I know BU is having a great year but agree with FormerFcFan they just have to prove their value with a quality win.

28-14 reminds me of the score when the wildcats beat the tomcats in 2016 to end their tvc win streak and take over the crown of the hocking
If you’re going to try to remember the past, why don’t you tally up the series and see who is on top? I believe you’ll find something like 18-6, of course favoring the Tomcats, but who’s counting?
Chalk it up as 18-7 after this year

Waterford has won 3 out of the last 5 meetings. Recency does matter

1. Newark Catholic- Because, well, they're NC.
2. East Knox- Only loss is to a 4-0 D6 team.
3. River, Hannibal- Only loss is to a 4-0 D5 team.
4. Eastern, Reedsville- Finally almost 100% and will be hitting on all cylinders by playoff time.
5. Waterford- We beat them.
6. Trimble- A dropped pass and us not being 100% got them the win. Won't happen in round 2.
7. Berne Union- 4-0
8. Frontier- 4-0
Caldwell is better than Eastern, Waterford, Frontier. We will find out about Berne tonight.

I get it that you can say you're better than Eastern since you got lucky and beat us. But Waterford played FF closer than you did so you can't make that claim about them. You can think it though if you want. Personally, I hope you get us in the playoffs. We'll show you what we're like at full strength.

You are right on about two of these and that’s Newark catholic and east Knox. Waterford would beat eastern a second go around and Berne union and frontier are terrible
Waterford got beaten down by Eastern. I realize it's fun for the fans to say, "we'll get you next time," but I guarantee you the players from Waterford want no part of another physical beating like what they received last Friday. Their cheap shots toward the end of the game was as an attempt to get back at the Eagles for beating them up so much.
Hmmmmm. Sounds familiar like the Eagles and their fans “we want a round two with Trimble blah blah blah”
You scared?

I think it's the Tomcats region to lose once again. As a fan of the Tomcats it would be nice to see the program strretch themselves a bit and schedule some better competition because the TVC is just bad outside of our rivalry with Waterford. There is no reason we shouldnt be playing better competition.

They had Lucas Fort Fry and Vinton County on the schedule this year but had to be altered because of the Covid schedule
