Does anyone think that Pendleton would go back "HOME?"

I'm sure many have wondered this but I just don't see what good it would do him. If he's going to want to take the next step in his coaching career I don't think a sideways move is going to help him any. Unless he's 100% good with being around this area and working with schools around here the next logical step would be moving up to a higher division in HS or possibly lower level college assistant somewhere.

I do not see it happening. His plan use to be to try to work his way up the ranks. Unless that plan has changed. And like you said, if he is fine with staying at this level it would be a possibility. West is not an Ironton or Burg but it is probably the next closest in our area. It is a football first school with the facilities to go with it. Not to mention I genuinely think the talent coming in can win Regional championships. Maybe we could hope that would be enough for him to come, but I don't see it happening. None the less their is some good coaches that would want this job, it being late though really hurts things.

Jared was already mentioned in an above post so I don't believe someone posting after that would write about Pendleton coming home and be talking about Jared. Simply because he had already been discussed maybe that's what they meant but given the topic of conversation and how it flowed I don't believe that to be the case.

From what I gather he's going to a school closer to home with an opportunity to coach with his brothers and possibly his father. He's recently married so ththat probably factored also.

I don't know who we'll get, but whoever it is will inherent a good roster with the opportunity to win the league and advance far in the playoffs for the next few years.

I couldn’t agree more. After watching this young group a few years ago against Jackson in a scrimmage and against wellston in a regular seaosn come. You couldn’t be more Right. I think this group has the potential to wreck some havoc come Friday nights!

I remember meeting Coach Gilliland one time when he was The East Head Coach and being impressed with his demeanor and he seemed older than he looked.

I say Coach Gilliand will do just fine, from what I have gathered is he has a good relationship with the players and they want to play for him. 22-29 at a school with the enrollment of East is impressive in my book regardless of who you play.

Like I posted last week, it's about finding the right fit and I think they found it with Gilliland. Weightroom numbers are already up. Like McClanahan in basketball, he has the dimeaner to discipline, but still relate to players to where they want to be around him. He has had several players recruited from East and West and has a lot of connections at the College Level. He will do really well here

I'm not trying to be a downer, but why are so many younger, lower level kids transferring out to other schools? I talked with one this weekend who has little, or no confidence in the JH coaches.

Parents not agreeing with where little Johnny plays. All the lower grade levels are winning, but that's not good enough for some.
