I agree. Not a lot of defensive adjustments

Yes, way too many points, and offenaively fighting double yards due to penaltiea. Time for fixes.

Tonight he called a great game they just missed tackles all night long most of their yardage came after contact
Disagree on defensive schemes. It was awful, we do not have the personnel to run this defense. It will struggle all year. Plays we saw all night were iso, power sweep, and counter who was the assigned spy, and where was our corners and linebackers all night. It was nothing but the last offensive cordinators offense double wing, and double wing blocking out of the I. Defensivelyit should of been simple to stop..no excuses

The scheme was ok we constantly hit them at the line of scrimmage all night long it was the players that missed the tackle or was dragged for 4-6 yards our players was just not strong enough the players had no fight in them they kept getting bullied but never got angry and dug down deep and pushed back the linebackers would fire into the whole but then still could not get the players down

Valley defensively needs to play responsibility, and if the schemes are not working rhen change. Where was our adjustments all night. If we cannot stop NW run we are in trouble. Adjust or go to the 50, if we do not have the linebacker core for the 40, then change. Too many mistakes and, responsibilities forgotten. Offensively, mistakea, dropped passes, and penalties. Clean it up and we are fine. PLEASE FOR THE LIFE OF ME FIGURE OUT OUR DEFENSE......
Not trying to argue, but didn’t valley play in the SOC1 for a little while?

Changing to a 5 man front in theory seems like a good thing for us but we have a problem with our big men wearing down now if another one was always out there they would rarely get a good break. Outside of our line we are undersized in almost every position. Look at #30 for northwest we don’t have a single player like him on our team. No one even close to his size and athleticism. Valley needs to dedicate more time to the weight room.

Yeah they was in it for many years. It’s funny that everyone says northwest has to move up because of size but valley by size should be down in the soc 1 but everyone is against that because they are afraid valley would win it most years. Valley should stay in the soc 2 and northwest should stay in the soc 1.

Congrats to NW. Valley has lots of problems that are not new as of tonight. NW just exploted them and took advantage.

Seems we have several rotators now. Swapping from 40 to 50 would be an easy move.

Not true at all, you guys played in the smaller conference for years to build confidence in your players. Kinda the same as what NW is doing. Before coach crabtree took over at NW, we got beat by EVERYONE in the SOC1 we win a few games and you guys cry around. We beat Valley and automatically we have to go up, but last year when Valley beat us, we should stay in the SOC1 make up your mind. We ran the same play at you guys all night, and you couldn’t stop it.

Whether you go up, or move conferneces it is what it is..... not crying stating facts. You are a bigger school....by large margins compared to those you play.

Congrats on the win. You did earn it. That bigger running back of yours had a great game.

Coaches have to learn to make better adjustments. They should have know what was coming 1) run 2) same 4 or 5 run plays all night. I hate to say it and everybody says it takes time which it does, BUT teams take the personality of the coaching staff and this far into the season we should see some signs of change and toughness. Unfortunately from the bleachers the last few weeks the players look soft and frankly some look disinterested. We need some dogs and it looks like we just have pups. I love our kids great group of young men just not killers on the football field. We have a few who are always complaining to the ref etc, coaches can stop that, it would be a starting point to changing the culture.

Nothing is ok if you are giving up 30 a game. You cant sugarcoat this in any way. We are not very good defensively, period!!! Not pointing finger or blame, it is just the simple truth.

Couldn't agree more. Offenses cannot always carry the team, they have off nights like last night. Defenses have to be consistent, and we are, just not the right kind. Whether it is coaching, or the way kids are playing? Probably both. Who however makes the decisions on who plays? Or schemes based on how kids are playing?

Northwest is moving back to SOC2 next season, it's already a done deal. It doesnt matter how big a school district is when you have good athletes that live in the district going to another school. Also, I was told the main reason Valley stays in SOC2 is they make more money on ticket sales.

NW97, couple of things- Valley although a small school has played in the SOC2 since 2006. In 2005 Valley won the SOC 1 (11-2, 5-0) and played Northwest, Minford, Wheelersburg and Waverly as part of their non-conference. I don't think "gate money" is why they stay.

As far as athletes going to different schools that live in NW district - not sure who they are but maybe one should ask the question to why that happens and try and fix it.

Kids leave every district that is nothing new. It is ok for them to leave, every parent and child has decisions to make of what is best for their child.. If your district has lots of kids leave who play specific things ask yourself why that is? I do not believe ticket sales would be the reason for not moving down.
