Ironton rebounds wins by 14.
Pikeville maybe down but they played a schedule that is challenging so record is deceiving good luck Ironton

No, everyone wants to see a local team do well. You just take the L graciously but rather give excuses as to why you lost the game. They are the IMG of Canada, they have 20 year old kids, they have a coach who coached an indoor football team. Why can’t you just say we lost and we will get better from it. It isn’t like you are playing teams with great records because your team’s combined record so far is 15-15. You aren’t blowing teams out like Liberty Center is right now. They have outscored their opponents 228-14! Check them out on You Tube! They will win DV this year!

Ironton has the #1 strength of schedule in D5. Wheelersburg and Midland has drug that down. They have blown everyone out but Clarkson North who no one in D5 would even schedule let alone beat. Jealousy and hatred is an awful thing in the land of Milk and Honey. Liberty center has played no one good. Liberty Center hasn’t even played a Hartley. Who just about beat the #1 D3 team this past week in Bishop Watterson

How can Ironton ever compete with such a program as Burg.
Well I guess they can not can they You have the Juggernaut called Oak Hill coming up and I am sure they prevail by at least 2 points

#1 strength of schedule? Ironton is currently #11 in D5 computer points so not sure that SOS is legit. As for “no one in D5 would schedule Clarkson North”, you do realize Harvest Prep scheduled Pick Central? Also scheduled Sandusky Perkins and Cincinnati LaSalle? That’s quite the schedule!
With regards to Hartley, yes they came within 15 points of Watterson, but also lost by 31 points to Ursuline. They even gave up 28 points to 1-5 Elyria Catholic. Will probably finish below .500.
So yes, Ironton has a very good team and a great shot at state, but they aren’t the only team playing tough schedules. Definitely do not appear to have the toughest schedule even in D5.

His ranking Ironton #13 may be legit, time will tell.
Ironton scheduled a strong schedule for a D5 school; second only to HP’s schedule. But unfortunately the teams on IHS schedule have not performed as they traditionally do. So I believe Pasteur’s putting too much emphasis on the reputation of the teams on IHS’ schedule versus those team’s results.
This is why their computer points are not as high as would be expected.

This should be interesting with the way Ironton travels and Pikeville not having visitor seating.

Liberty Center is very VERY VERY GOOD.
They lost the state final to Perry by a TD Last year.
Perry handled HP by 2TD’s in final 4.
Perry came out of the region where Kirtland was & Canfield SR still lives.
LC IS & Has been very VERY good. I do believe they return most offensive power & just had to plug in line losses.
They are “itching” for a state title & have what it takes to do so.
They have been on the outside looking in. They’ve been in the final 4 collisions, just coming short many times to the region 17 winner/ monster that awaits them.
I’ve watched whatever video i can get on them twice.
Three brothers in the backfield, hard to stop:
2 SR BRO’s COLTON & TRENTON
CRUSE (6 foot 190 each). RB’s
GARRISON CRUSE sophomore ( 6’2 / 210). RB/WR
Plus a solid QB who cam scramble & throw deep + several other capable backs are in there arsenal.
Either they or Canfield SR should make state final.
BUT, there are Many solid teams in top 4 of region’s 17/18.
Not to forget VerSailles, out of the MAC (R18).
It will be a fight to win it all, but i do believe whomever gets out of R19, will also have a shot.
The northerners lean to LC BEING NEXT UP
On YAPPI.
IHS… STILL ONE DAY @ a time & PikeVille is up next…

Team A
@ D4 Coventry
v. D5 Sandy Valley
@ D3 Marlington
@ D4 Northwest
v. D4 Orville
@ D4 Canton South
Team B
@ D1 Pickerington North
v. D1 St. Joseph’s Prep (PA)
v. D3 Boyle County (KY)
v. D1 Elder
v. D2 Massillon Washington
v. D4 Cleveland Glenville
Now, anyone who knows anything about high school football would say Team B. I’d venture to say that every team on Team B’s schedule would beat every team on Team A’s schedule by 4 to 7 touchdowns on a bad day.
Team A is Akron Manchester. 11.75 Harbin points.
Team B is Lakewood St. Edward. 11.03 Harbin points.
Harbin points don’t measure strength of schedule. If you played the top 10 teams in the state and lost each game by 7, you’d have 0.00 Harbin points even though you’d be playing the toughest schedule possible. You’d be a good team, likely to be 6-0 vs. Team A’s schedule so far. But your Harbin points wouldn’t reflect that. Computer rankings would.
At the end of the day, Ironton will be in the playoffs and will have the chance to prove themselves against the best. So it’s all talk until then.

Drew Pasteur's rankings are absolutely not opinion based. Its based on statistics.

First off, X’sandO’s stated that IHS had the #1 SOS, which, according to your source is not true.
Second, he stated that no D5 team would schedule a team like Clarkson, yet HP has scheduled multiple teams at that level or even better.
So X’sandO’s is simply wrong.
As for Pasteur, his model is just that “a model.” Hence why computer points are so important. They measure actual results on the field. And so far, IHS has beaten competition that puts them at #11 in computer points which is what matters come playoff time; not Drew Pasteur’s model.
Re: Week 7: (5-1) Ironton @ (1-4) Pikeville KY
It is always great to read posts when Ironton fans like to say we beat Hartley as one of their key wins. Hartley’s wins have come against teams with a combined record of 4-14. They are not the best private school in Columbus this year like in past years. It is also laughable when people say we have the strongest schedule because the computer points are based off of teams you beat and who they beat. Obviously, that isn’t true as well because you are #4 in the region… THE REGION. This isn’t even the whole division. Who is above you?? Prep, Columbus Academy and wait for it… FAIRLAND!!! You may want to act like you are the IMG of Ohio but Halloween isn’t for a few weeks away.

Fair enough. Fairland is better than Ironton. Let’s make a friendly wager. Name your price. I’ll take Ironton next Friday. You can take Fairland. The better team playing at home. Easy money for you.BurgFan43 wrote: ↑Thu Oct 03, 2024 5:46 pm It is always great to read posts when Ironton fans like to say we beat Hartley as one of their key wins. The path to a championship should be difficult.
Ironton will handle business this week.
