Re: 2015 Logan @ Athens
I've not been keeping up with this. do you think logan is ready to compete again at a top level. I have know idea what Athens has returning. but they certainly have turned the corner with their program. and I know logan has been steadily improving.
Re: 2015 Logan @ Athens
They don't have any 7 on 7's scheduled on the school website, also looks like they dropped the Logan Elm practice scrimmage and traveling to Bloom Carroll now.
Re: 2015 Logan @ Athens
That might be because of the change in coaches at both schools.C-Bolt wrote:They don't have any 7 on 7's scheduled on the school website, also looks like they dropped the Logan Elm practice scrimmage and traveling to Bloom Carroll now.

didnt le's coach retire last year? i also think his son is the bc coach now. not sure though...
Re: 2015 Logan @ Athens
Athens had a 7 on 7 this past Saturday with Belpre, Philo, and one other team that just slipped my mind. They will be traveling to Bloom for a 7 on 7 and to Capital for another next weekend.

Must be nice to have LHS72 relay his messages while he's on self vacation/sabbatical. Ole Moon must be somewhere in a tropical secluded paradise, with no internet access, resting his foot up. Come on home Moon, you've had enough rest. We need ya for this game topic buddy.

Re: 2015 Logan @ Athens
Here is my take on this game...for what it is worth (very little) and for whoever cares (no one) lol.
As I have mentioned above, and I still think it is the case, this is one of the best Week 1 games in SE Ohio, and will probably have one of the bigger Week 1 gates in the area. A lot of interest outside of the Athens-Hocking area and will be well attended to say the least. I will make the trip along with some other Jackson friends as we are idle that Friday night. This game will very likely be the last time Logan plays Athens as a SEOAL team...will be bragging rights for a while. SEOAL big fish versus TVC big fish...Paladin-Moonshine and Bulldog93-Raider6309 be going at hard before and after this one.
No one from the purple and white and/or green/gold blow me up with the general observations on this one, I can't be too specific because lol we don't know a whole lot yet about either squad. But that doesn't keep me from internet predictions or making some assumptions about what I think lol. So here goes.
If there was a team I am more familiar with it is Logan, having watched this current group of juniors/seniors play against the Jackson group of junior/seniors since middle school. Obviously kids change or mature differently but generally speaking you can draw some conclusions. They play a very physical brand of football on either side of the ball and have some depth to go along with this style of play. No one should be injured barring something happening in a scrimmage, so Week 1 for Logan everyone will be healthy. I think that is of particular note, they have recently had some Week 2-3 issues following starting the season with Lancaster. But look for a healthy and hungry group eager to prove a point.
Athens, obviously is coming off a year that may never be repeated or witnessed again in SE Ohio in the near (or distant) future. Enough said, everyone gets that I think. Athens' offense last year was like a Madden video game. I have to "assume" that this year given the personnel lost that there is no way you can duplicate that offensive scheme and to some degree Athens will return to a more "traditional" SE Ohio looking offense, that being more of a run oriented approach with some passing. Maybe not as much run as everyone else but something more along the lines of what you "typically" see on Friday nights in the area. I could be completely wrong, but I can't imagine they have the athletes again this year to match the "Madden" game of last year. Yes I know the second group was in a lot of the final quarters last year and ran similar plays and offense but I think Athens almost has to come back to the pack somewhat this year.
I think defensively both teams are solid, again Logan I know is very physical on this side of the ball. Not familiar enough with Athens to say how they will be defensively, but it seems like they lost a bunch.
So, I think if I was predicting today on an internet forum where you can make generalizations and wild assumptions...then I give it to Logan right now even though Athens is at home. Wait and see what we hear back from the scrimmage reports and see how healthy both teams are come Week 1. But I am looking forward to seeing this one.

Re: 2015 Logan @ Athens
Logan will have someone new calling the offensive plays and also on the defensive side. Offense might be a little more open and the defense will hit harder. Don't think you will see the missed tackle of the past. I have been waiting to see how much more the freshmen line has grown.
Logan needs a big year to get kids interested in the game again.
