What's next for the SEOAL?
Re: What's next for the SEOAL?
seems to me this problem is nation wide, next year in Pa we are going to a ten game slate within conference, thus losing the best rivalry in our area week ten,a game that was played for the District title this season.two schools about the same size maybe 12 miles apart may not play again depending on the playoff status. Seems the leagues are garnering all the power and if you don't agree so be it, your gone, and good luck getting ten games each year without travelling 100 miles one way

its a week 6 bye in league play. Athens plays Gallia, Zanesville, and Warren non league. AD for Athens is getting turned down by everyone. Same old, not playing u till Burrow is gone. I wouldn't be surprised they play Akron svsm since they are playing in basketballPaladin wrote:Talk about a Week 6 opening for Athens , I see that week was a TVC game for them. They played Wellston this year, a TVC game. What, now Athens is dropping league games so they can get a piece of Logan ?![]()

Does Ironton have a bye that week? They'll play "Anyone, Anywhere, Anytime," just ask them.RAIDER6309 wrote: its a week 6 bye in league play. Athens plays Gallia, Zanesville, and Warren non league. Ironton turned Athens down. Chillicothe have an open week 6? Saw where they're playing Greenfield week 4 or 5 next year. Chillicothe played them week 6 this year

In Virginia, there are no sports leagues/conferences like in Ohio, but rather districts. All schools of similar size in a certain geographic area comprise each district, and most districts have 10 members. This allows for one out-of-district game that can be played against any school from other districts (usually during week one) and then 9 games against the other members of your district. I'm familiar with the Bay Rivers District in the Hampton Roads area. These districts are very similar to Ohio's Regions, if each region only had 10 members. State Championship games are played in Charlottesville at the University of Virginia.

Re: What's next for the SEOAL?
I love this team as much as anyone out there but SVSM is on a whole different level on the football field right now, I think it will be a big upset if they don't win the D3 title this season. I'm intrigued by the basketball game a bit but I have an idea that it may not turn out so well either and we'll save that discussion for the B-ball forum.RAIDER6309 wrote:its a week 6 bye in league play. same size fish, same size pond from here on out ... who cares about league play ... regional title is far more important, IMO.
Looking forward to seeing if Athens and Trimble can win one.

Not going to cheer for Athens, huh BIGHITSINC? lol
I have always - and will continue - to cheer for ALL SOUTHEASTERN OHIO teams once the playoffs start ... Athens County first, TVC second, and then any other teams that may be in it from our area.
If you're letting what you read on southeasternohiopreps to determine how you feel about a team or school - that is just silly.

This is strange! because the boys in tiger land said they will play anybody! At least Logan scheduled the bullpuppies on the first open date they had!LoganLocos wrote:Does Ironton have a bye that week? AD at Athens said they wanted to play then they changed their mind. I think they might be scheduling back. Ironton is weak now

nice, you say it like it is and has been a regular thing......... barring the last 3 years in football athens had not competed well on the football field with logan. maybe its your wording...........RAIDER6309 wrote:Everyone knows Logan wouldn't compete against athens. Be another game where athens would pick the score. 80 something to 21. Maybe after athens and Logan play in 2015, they will make up and athens will go back into the seoal

Re: What's next for the SEOAL?
Since Logan and Athens switched size, Logan has dominated Athens. I'm just saying the 2013 Athens vs 2013 Logan wouldn't be much of a game. Ik Athens has never dominated the seoal in football, only 12 league titles. Ironton has 13 in 13 years lol
