I think the team is loaded w/ skill players but Pendleton's stubbornness will kill them in big games..
Again lack discipline..
no doubt Edwards is a future star, but who's going to coach him up?? No one NOW..

So Ironton has a big senior class, nearly every starter back, and the top player in D5 (possibly the state). Lots of strengths, but where are the areas of concern? OL, play calling, etc?

Also, what are the expectations for the regular season (wins/losses)? Other than HP, who could beat IHS within the region?
Yup. 247 ranks Terry ( Irish commit) as a top 20 recruit overall in the 25 class.
247 has him at 18 in the state, 77 position, 526 overall. Still really good.
.yup 18th in the state. Thats pretty impressive

O line. D line. Playcalling. And who is named QB1 or will we go into season without a definitive Qb1? Me personally I think the senior is better at his WR position and the dual threat potentail of Edwards at Qb is something that needs to be considered. A QB with wheels like that will drive defenses insane especially with that kinda speed AND still also having to gameplan for Terry and the very deep running back room.
Rb room is loaded.
Wr room is loaded
Secondary may be best in D5
LB room is loaded
O line Dline has at least 2 legit D1 kids beginning the season.
So loaded across the board, with no potential weaknesses other than experience at QB?

Anyone on the schedule that can beat them in the regular season?
Sure. At this level anybody can be beat. Irontons schedule is tough.

Once again, reading comprehension is not strong amongst your Ironton folk.

Ironton coach and AD contacted him directly, not Wheelersburg coach.

This is not hard to understand, at least not for those outside of Ironton :)
Sounds like the portsmouth two sport recruits parent contacted burg coaches while the recruit was subject to an active disciplinary action by a fellow county school. And furthermore appears said coaches and parent potentially conspired to avoid said disciplinary action? Could be illegal contact. Burg coaches should have not entertained that contact. Potentially poor judgement. Maybe the pressure being created by Ironton & Harvest Prep have inspired some possibly questionable conduct by wheelersburg coaches and athletic director?
Know the youngman very well. He told me the reason he went to Burg was he wanted to be challenged academically and athletically. He has a very good head on his shoulders and has a bright future.
How did he get dismissed from his old team?

Im very glad any remnant of the previous regime is basically gone from Ironton. Now all we need is the rest of the boomers to clock out. Professional haters.

From what I saw online, Pendleton took the coaches to Marion Local. Were there any takeaways from the visit? Any changes to the program being made?

Btw, I thought this was a great idea. In my opinion, Burg coaches need to hop in the car and visit ML or Kirtland.

The new transfer from Huntington looks a lot bigger than 220lbs, If he’s in the backfield he’s gonna be a load to take down. I heard Ironton wants a lot of kids to play 1 way and by looking at the roster I think they can do it. Having a tough schedule and preparing for 16 games this team will need depth.

Kaskey is official the new assistant coach at Ironton, I’m excited to see what he can bring to the offense. I’ve heard he’s been working out with the QBs and the new offense. I can see Ironton running a 2 QB system and the senior Schreck being the starter but who ever doesn’t start will play WR and arguably be the #2 best WR behind Terry.

If Kaskey is running the offense now, Edward’s and the offense are in good hands now.

Sounds to me like Kaskey just working with the quarterbacks but Pendleton still calling the plays?*

Good grief. Let Kaskey - or anyone else - call the plays.

The problem with Irontons “D1” kids is they aren’t really playing at a high level. There are a bunch of Terry kids out there. Go to Texas and Florida and you’ll find one on every school district. So when Ironton kids go somewhere they find out they are a lot of fish in a small pond trying to make it.
. Sure they stand out here but it’s not easy in the big colleges.

I think Terry could play anywhere. But he’s not a very big kid so he’s got to find a place where they need an electric kick returner or a team that slings it a lot. He’s super quick so he will definitely get a shot somewhere.

Weeks 3-7 look brutal. Most of those could go either way.

Midland going to have a new coach so that could be a lucky break as we are in June and they haven’t found a new coach yet
