The most recent post on the Generals over on the MVL has them way down and 2 of their best players hurt,so Logan should win handily is that's the case.

Is Paul Culver still head coach over there? If he is I wouldn't bank on an easy win, injury's or not.

What is the name of the boy that came in from S. Carolina for Logan?

Not really, OU's offensive coordinator has a sophomore that plays QB. Know you can't wait to hate on A town after they proved you wrong so many times last year.

Hate to say it but I'll take Logan in this one. Will be close.

Athens wins this and I'll give you the reasons why but let me first add this caveat---it should be a close game and with two evenly matched teams manned by 15,16, and 17 year olds (18's will be rare in an August game) anything can and probably will happen. hahaahah

1, It's at Athens and the home field matters

2, Athens has a coaching staff that has proven they can come up with schemes to win big games

3, Athens is used to winning---Logan not so much. Athens Sophs, and Juniors have never lost a regular season game and the Srs. were Freshmen and separate from the

varsity the last time Athens lost during the regular season. Gallia 3 years ago now.

4, The final reason is success breeds success---if you are a Soph. at Athens you have 5 more weeks of practice than your Logan counterpart--Jr's 8 weeks, and the Srs. 11.

Let that sink in, Athens Srs. have had an extra season of practice and games compared to Logan. I think that will matter.

Fortdawg -

Those are all great points - except for maybe #1. I believe in all sports "home field advantage" is largely overrated.

Logan fans know how much being "used to winning" matters. We had that 5 years ago - and for a decade had a TD lead against nearly every opponent just because of confidence.

And I've often talked about the importance of postseason practice for underclassmen.

Will be a tough task to take down the Bulldogs.

Logan turned off the dogs after a 14/00 1st Quarter lead.

Burk must have played everyone tonight after the 1st.

Sounds like Athens and Logan looked good. Should be a great game and hard hitting. Athens looked bigger but still needs to clean up some stuff on offense and defense

Logan led 14-0 after first quarter, and 14-7 at halftime.

Logan scored on a long run by McBride and a long pass from Little to Smith.

Sheridan put a couple nice drives together in the second quarter, getting stopped on 4th down and scoring late in the half.

Sheridan's JVs dominated the Logan JVs in the 2nd half - coming from behind to win 27-20.
