Who would want in the TVC? Kicking the crap out of vc, wellston, Alex, river valley, and most years the rest of them? How is that going to improve any program.Ground Buck wrote:I was told the fate of the SEOAL may be decided today in the TVC meeting. Can't wait to hear what comes out of that meeting.

Locos...you just count your blessings (and your SEOAL Trophy) that Rafferty was out of commission at Logan lol, or those two "passes" that went for touchdowns, one miraculously, would have been picked off.
No worries though, Jackson not giving you any early Christmas presents next year lol.
And you are right, Sexton took maybe 30 snaps last year?? If that. Throws the ball football well...as a matter of fact stay tuned for baseball and watch him throw gas right by the Chieftains from 60'-6"....

Hey, if we're going to talk injuries, remember that Logan played all but 5 quarters in 2013 without their #1 receiver and offensive playmaker (Maniskas) and #1 QB (Little).doubleplay643 wrote:Locos...you just count your blessings (and your SEOAL Trophy) that Rafferty was out of commission at Logan lol, or those two "passes" that went for touchdowns, one miraculously, would have been picked off.

..
The domino affect meant that 2012's top tackler didn't play defense after Lancaster b/c he was Logan's only healthy non-freshman QB.
Add in 3 kids who were ineligible (who will be back next year), and I feel like we were pretty even on the injury front.
Jackson will be the favorite next fall, but as I said earlier: Bring it on!
Re: What's next for the SEOAL?
It was a great game and Logan had more points on the scoreboard at the end . Period !

Moonshine we all know there are no big fish restaurants in Logan....but is there still Bush's and the Big Ed sandwich which I so sorely miss :122245 , heck I may willing to lay a wager on a trip for a couple Big Ed's lolmoonshine wrote:Reverse!, come on who had the undefeated 8th grade and superior talent coming back in 14, WOW the ironboys will wipe us clean! Re: What's next for the SEOAL?
Logan will be reign champ until Jackson unseats them with all the returning player from all league list Jackson has to be favored to win league next year. The big question is that Logan is on stable ground coaching wise where Jackson is in limbo with 3-2 vote last year and new school board coming on board. Jackson needs to make the change in staff or give them the support and put this program on solid ground their to much talent coming for a staff that's just trying to survive. On solid ground Jackson could make a run like Logan did in 2000's.
Re: What's next for the SEOAL?
Would someone from Jackson put up Jackson's record while this coach has been in control and do the same for the same amount of years before this coach took over.
To me it seems like this coach as done a great job. Another thing ....the teams Jackson lost to this year did they play last year and if not would have they beaten the teams they use to play in their place?

Re: What's next for the SEOAL?
Coach Andy Hall
2009 - 7 Wins, 3 Losses
2010 - 9 Wins, 2 Losses
2011 - 11 Wins, 1 Loss
2012 - 5 Wins, 5 Losses
2013 - 6 Wins, 4 Losses
Overall Record - 38 Wins, 15 Losses (.717)
2009
Coach Hall took over after Shane Wolford stepped down from the head coaching position and led the Ironmen to a 7-3 season. They won the games they were supposed to win, and lost to three great football teams. Logan (11-1 - D2 Regional Semifinalist), Ironton (10-3 - D4 Regional Finalist), and Zanesville (9-1, Only loss to Logan).
2010
Jackson opened the season with a shocking loss to Wellston for the first time in two decades. That Wellston team was led by Jaylen Prater (currently playing at Northwestern) and Austin Osborne (currently playing at Ohio Dominican). The Ironmen recovered to go 9-1, won the SEOAL outright, and made a playoff appearance in D3 before losing to Eaton in the regional quarterfinals. Eaton went on the a 12-1 record.
2011
Jackson went undefeated with signature wins over Columbus St. Charles, Ironton (for the second straight year), and Gallia Academy. They defeated a previously undefeated Athens team in the playoffs before losing to Jonathan Alder (12-1) in the 2nd round.
2012
Jackson's 21 game winning regular season winning streak ended with a loss to Granville (9-2 - D3 Regional Semifinalist). They also lost to regional finalist Athens (11-2), holding the explosive Athens offense to only 21 points. Lost to Wheelersburg (8-3 - D5 Regional Quarterfinalist), Chillicothe (4-6), and Gallia Academy (9-3 - SEOAL Champion and Regional Semifinalist). The Chillicothe loss was the only "bad" loss, but Chillicothe's 9-1 season this year shows the talent that was there. All of this happened with Jackson dealing with several key injuries and/or sickness throughout the season.
2013
Losses to three teams that are currently in the Regional Seminfinals in D3 or D5 (West Jeff (10-1), Athens (11-0), and Wheelersburg (10-1)) and to SEOAL Champion Logan (6-4) in a 28-21 game that easily could've gone the other way. A 6-4 mark in yet another season plagued by injuries, and also with one of the youngest and most inexperienced Jackson teams in the last two decades.
15 losses, 11 of those to playoff qualifiers, 1 to a 9-1 team whose only loss was to Logan (11-1), and of course the loss to Logan this season. Only two "bad" losses (Wellston in 2010 and Chillicothe in 2012), but both teams were still talented.
Let's also remember that in five seasons, Hall has 38 wins, which ranks him 3rd ALL-TIME in the history of a program with 582 football victories. He trails only Jim Reynolds (63) and Gene Slaughter (43) in wins. He and his staff helped bring Jackson back-to-back SEOAL championships when they hadn't won one since 1998. He took them to the playoffs twice (9 all-time appearances) and even won a playoff game (4 playoff wins in program history).
The guy hasn't had a losing season, he has won championships and a playoff game, he has sent several guys on to play college football, he has won more than 70% of the games he has coached, yet some people want him out or think that they know how he should run his program or who should or shouldn't play on Friday nights. It's unbelievable to me. Keep him, let him do his job, and see what happens the next few years. My guess is that more wins, championships, and playoff appearances are on the horizon, especially with the talent coming through the program right now.

Re: What's next for the SEOAL?
I want to know who all these players with outstanding talent are that aren't getting on the field.
Re: What's next for the SEOAL?
That's what I'd like to know as well. I have a feeling we might be waiting quite a while on a response.Ironman92 wrote:I want to know who all these players with outstanding talent are that aren't getting on the field.
Re: What's next for the SEOAL?
It's insane that this coach should be on the "hot seat". All these guys who want him gone may just get their wish , and be careful why you wish for !!!!

Yeah....making statements that no one understands brings people out.
I guess I just don't assign the word "outstanding" to the same things.
Beth Howe was an outstanding athlete for Jackson.
Jared Humphreys was an outstanding athlete for Jackson.
Erik Davis was an outstanding athlete for Jackson.
Shane Wolford was an outstanding athlete for Jackson.
To me "outstanding" means they actually stand out above everyone else....

Don't look for a blowout from this game. Jackson team way to young, I see a 5-5 season.
Yet Jackson finished 6-4 and a defensive stand away from 7-3. How can you feel the coach should go when your own words state that you believe they overachieved at 6-4?

Re: Week 8: Portsmouth (2-5) at Jackson (3-4)
I believe the rest of the season looks pretty rough for Jackson.
Yet Jackson finished with a 3 game winning streak. Again, exceeding YOUR midseason expectations for the team.

Re: SEOAL 2013 returns
What Jackson needs is a passing QB. The Parks kid was a QB in his earlier years, but I don't know how he did. Next year will be a tough year for Jackson, they'll need to rebuild the O-Line, D-Line, and some of the linebackers.
Again, by YOUR own words from Nov 2012, this year should have been a tough year for Jackson yet they improved on last year and went 6-4 with 3 losses coming to 3 teams that are still playing. I've got to say that I'm having trouble reading your mind on this. Something is just not adding up. What's the deal firecracker?

Last year:
"I believe the best players should be on the field, however the coaches should TRY to bring other kids into the game."
Preseason:
"Not many kids playing this year, hearing they were feed up with issues from last year. I hope the coaches see that there is alot of talent on the team, they just need to give the kids the chance to show it."
Week 1
"I was thinking this was going to be a close game, but I am having second thoughts. I am going with Jackson 49, Wellston 7. After reading how Coach Hall is going to run the team this year, looks like the team is focusing on keeping the players less fatigued and fresh, especially on offense."
Week 4
"why doesn't the coaches pull those players out for a few plays? This is same thing issue this team faced last year. I see alot of kids more than willing to play."
"I think the team needs to reform the way it runs offense and really look at if they have the best players in the right positions. I look at the sideline," etc. etc. etc.
Week 5
"but something needs to change on offense/defense. Start pulling players out and put other players in, there just might be an improvement to the team on both sides of the ball."
" I just don't see how some of these kids go to practice everyday, attend weight training in the off season, and are seniors, haven't earned a right to play."
Week 10:
"I believe this years junior class had an excellent record from pee-wee on up until the varsity level. This sure does make a person question the varisty level coaching."
"Makes a person wonder who else is on the sideline that can perform but has never had the chance to show it."
"Who wants to stand on the sidelines year after year and not play?"
I think your quotes prove to everyone exactly why you're upset at the coaches. BTW, your comparison of peewee success to high school success was awesome. I'm not sure if you were joking, but I thought it was hilarious! Had me ROTFLOL!
