But just think how good Jordan could have been if he would have focused on basketball instead of lifting weights. HeII he might have even made it in baseball if he hadn't lifted those dammed weights.

To hear some of the parents talk one would have thought that they had players as good as Jordan. After all, isn't that why a person would move his kid around from school to school till he finds the right fit?

In college I would lift for football 2+ hours and then go shoot around in the gym. This not only helped get rid of my soreness, but my shot improved greatly. At one point I was shooting 3's like free throws and volleyball line like 3's, it was crazy. You don't have to lift like an animal for 3 hours a day or max out during basketball and/or baseball season. You just need to continue to increase your strength so you are stronger at the end of the season than what you were when you started. At the minimum you should not be weaker at the end of any season than when you started. For anyone to say that lifting hurts anyone is crazy... do your research. On the other hand you cannot simulate athletic training of reaction, hand eye coordination, and other athletic movements that you get by playing a sport. In conclusion playing 3 sports with weight lifting a part of practice (3 days a week/ 30-45 minute sessions) should keep athletes safe and getting stronger. Weight lifting (properly) keeps athletes from getting injuries.

the whopper sucks. you need to go to hardee's and get a "thick burger" if you want a real hamburger. i saw a burger on the travel channel that weighs 8 pounds. i think some of those lady cat softball moms could eat two of those things in one sitting.
