I think The Trojans will win but by all accounts this Portsmouth team is still trying to find an identity. I predict

Portsmouth 26 South Point 20

The Pointers have always had some talent but are just a little Jeykll and Hyde sometimes.

Trojans 36 - S.Point 14

Sophs get their feet wet at the expense of the pointers.

South point really has a good coaching staff and some pretty good talent i feel that south point really picked up the pace last year toward the end of the season. I think last year south point was still really learning the new offense and now that they know it this year the coaches will be more free to call what they need. dont count south point out they have some good players and really smart coaches with schilot and wellman helping with running the offense. Portsmouth wont out coach south point but they might have more athletic players.

Portsmouth almost lost it in the 3rd qtr but came back to win this one 28-15. Myers really took over the ball on offense and defense.

Also need to mention Ryan Jordan did a good job in the 2nd half running the ball. On defense James really stood out, Montgomery and Sanders did well on D too.

individually Myers looked great. great foot speed , make several nice plays on D , had a big pic. as a team , I thought they looked ragged or lethargic or ?? maybe just young and not close to gelling. SP nearly stole the game as they dominated the 3rd quarter, but the trojans made the plays when they had too. next week should be a nailbiter, GO Trojans MD

South Point is better than alot of people gave them credit for. They have some real good athletes on there team. I was im pressed with number 18, 3, and 6. They had some good defensive players that were in the backfield all night.

Portsmouth came out and looked sharp on there first drive, but like any young team, got a lead and seem to let up a bit. Once south point took the lead the Trojans turned it up. Cant do that against teams like West and Burg and exspecxt to come back like that. Got to put them away.

Congrats on the win.........I believe what we seen tonight will be a re-occuring problem all year......youth and inexperience.........We had better go back to the drawing board on O-line and running backs and learn to plug the gaps and pick up the blitz or QB won't last the whole year...second half back was a pleasant surprise! He should get the nod next week......glad to get the first "W".....hope they work hard this week and can step up performance againest West.

i agree with the above also, I think it will be hard not to expect too much , you see the big D-I recruits on the line and see the other talent it's hard to remember they are inexperienced at lots of positions. Really looked shaky in qrts 2-3 . MD

Congratulations to the Trojans on the win and I also want to commend the Pointers for mounting a spirited comeback when they were down 14-0.

Very impressed with Josh Myers........this kid can do it all.......with his arm and his feet.........good to see Ryan Jordan step up and make some good runs in the second half.

Defense played respectable, including getting a big turnover near the goal line to stop a SP drive........but the kicking game has to improve.......it may cost us a game or two if it doesn't.

This was a really good football game both sides were completely worn out by the end of the third and then portsmoth's brought in some fresh running backs and the pointers were out matched. I look for the pointer to do very well in there conference and upset some other non conference teams. portsmouth has NO kicking game and that could come out in a nail bitter, but they should do well.

VERY fun game to watch
