Just heard that Ethan Morgan left the game with an apparant collorbone injury. This would be a heartbreaker for West fans, but if it is true I wish the best of luck with it.

21-0 West wins.

Morgan did break collerbone.

Swords, Bricker, Murphy with the scores for West

Bricker came in at QB and made some big plays. Good ballgame first half second half PW just ran the ball down our throats. The dragons just ran out of steam and got very tired. Our weakness showed in our depth. Our offense was terribly tonight way too many to's . Different coach same result. We better get ready for Meigs . The line needs to get better or its going to be a looong season. Hopefully Hatfield is not hurt he took a bad hit towards the end of game but he is a tough kid. Good luck to the West Siders the rest of the year.

I know West's defense is good, but how is Fairland - with all that offensive talent - not producing any points ? Including the 2 scrimmages, they've now scored a grand total of 2 TDs. They racked up a bunch of points last year & have a lot of them back this year. Just wondering...

Fairlands D is great but the offense? If they had the head coach from last year as offensive coordinator they would be a tough team to beat.

Fairland is a talented team, West just wore them down because we kept the ball on their side of the field almost the entire game. Bloomfield is great. Fairland has really good speed in places.

I hate it about Morgan. If it is his collerbone, he's probably done for the year? Or could he go late in the year? He didn't play well while he was in there. It was like he got tunnel vision on Bricker and didn't look elsewhere. Held on to the ball too long. Shame because the kid has a rocket and never got to show what he can do.

West played terrible the first half especially. Line play, except on the first drive was really bad in the first half. A little better in the second. Defense played well the whole game.

We've got to find ways to get the playmakers the ball. I know they tried to stay close to the vest because of Portsmouth, but we've got to get the ball outside and use our speed.

Overall I'm happy with the win, bummed about Morgan, and eagerly waiting the game next week with Portsmouth.

Thanks Siderman!Yes you are right we do have some good skilled kids.I think our offense will come around its just gonna take a couple of games. What I take away from this that is positive is how well our defense played and thats the department we have been lacking in the past few years,Well that and putting it on the ground which we still did tonight. But if we limit turnovers and our D continues to play stellar then the Dragons are going to win some ball games!Good luck to you guys next week,I hope you hang one on Portsmouth!

I dont get it, different coaches but yet the same offense!!! well almost! defense does look better but 21 points is still alot to give up. teams r going to just key on 6 and 4 all year. better start using all of the talent. make teams wonder where the ball is going. heard from the coaches of West and they said they just keyed on 6. makes sense to me. also alot of cramps, I know those things happen early in the season but at one point there was 3 on the sidelines getting attenended to? when u aren't very deep that hurts. these boys have alot of talent and I agree they r going to win some ball games this year but the offense is going to have put points up for that to happen. deffense can only get u so far.

"...different coaches but yet the same offense!!!"
Not to be argumentative, but just because two offenses spread the field with personnel doesn't make them the same offense. From what I saw when I attended games the last couple of years, the previous staff's offense was a well thought out system, while the present offense is an attempt to run a spread-type offense from coaches who have never done it before - and, unfortunately, it shows. I'd advise them to run what they know.

Great win West and Coach T. Hope the rest of the season goes well.

As for Fairland when you do not block it does not matter how much talent you have. Time to come together and play as a team to be able to win games. Because not coming close to 100 yards total offense will not be enough to win a game.
