Great post 70's, I think I was misunderstood when referrencing Katie. All of SEO should be proud of Katie, especially Logan and Hocking Co. I personally, am proud to have seen her play when I was in hs. I don't watch WNBA ball except for when she is playing. And you are right, Ironton should be proud of the tradition as should Logan of their run of late. When GA plays either team it is a big game even in years when we are the lesser team. If you don't respect your oponent, then who have you really beaten in the end?? Heck it makes me proud to say that we have coaches in our league like Amyx and Lutz and programs like Ironton and Logan and I for one am sad to see the Tigers leave even though I am pretty confident that we will still play anually if at all possible.

Re: SEOAL new Division / Region breakdown
I think it's safe to say that just about every school/community in SEO is proud of its sports traditions.
Some may have richer traditions than others as far as win-loss records are concerned, but every school has its own heroes and has enjoyed some degree of success in one sport or another, even for a short period of time.
While it's fun to argue about who's better or ponder the "what ifs", I think we need to lay off bashing each other.

Re: SEOAL new Division / Region breakdown
What will the North Division look like next year? Will it just be Logan-Marietta-Warren? I seem to remember - before Ironton voted to leave the SEOAL - that there was talk of a south school rotating into the north every two years, with Gallia Academy joining the north for the first two year period, but with the division format going away after next year, the rotation is no longer necessary.......but will it exist for next year? Will Gallia Academy be in the North Division in the final year of divisions to balance things out?
If not, I'm guessing Logan-Marietta-Warren are going to have a lot of one-on-one games in many of the sports to compensate for the lack of league games with Athens and Zanesville gone?!??!

Re: SEOAL new Division / Region breakdown
There are no divisions in football, although they are still a year away from a complete round-robin football schedule because some schools still had to finish two-year non-league commitments this season.
They did utilize divisions to where you played all the teams in your division and three of the five schools (on a rotating basis) from the other division. That phases itself out this fall. Some schools have five league games and others have six this season, but there's not much you can do about that because of other football commitments that were made during the process when Athens, then Zanesville, then Ironton left or announced they were leaving. Football is by far the toughest sport to schedule, especially non-league games later in the season.
However, basketball will be complete double-round-robin starting this winter: 14 games in 2009-10, and 12 games in 2010-11 when Ironton leaves.
Chillicothe rotates into the North in volleyball, baseball and soccer in 2009-10. Everything else is one division starting this fall, then starting in 2010-11 divisions will be a thing of the past.
