The last time I was there it was 21-0 before it started....nothing to do with the officials.

I have been going to Jackson games since before I can remember, but this will be my first time heading to Ironton to watch the Ironmen play. Pretty excited about this game. Go Red!
Re: Week 7: Jackson (6-0) @ Ironton (4-2)
Make sure you go over behind the Ironton side ( I think they call it Tiger Alley) and look at their history painted on the walls. I really enjoyed seeing it the last time I was down there.JHS08 wrote:I have been going to Jackson games since before I can remember, but this will be my first time heading to Ironton to watch the Ironmen play. I am going down to Chilly for Homecoming against Gallia, any way we could convince Jackson and Ironton's ADs to move this game to Saturday, I would really like to see this one?!?! Maybe Time Warner can invent DVR of live sports LOL Good luck to both teams!!

jhs08, you'll see an iron gate on the home side, and a large sign that says tiger alley, it's on those walls, on the outside of the stadium, it is very cool and has information about the old ironton tanks football team. that is why it's called tank's memorial stadium, or some call it the tank. well worth the time to see.

I have to agree with Grandma.......a very intimidating site for a visiting team to get off the bus and as they head to the locker-room look up at Ironton's history from the playoff records to the state championship pictures. Also worth noting from the visitor side are the flags flying from the top of the covered stadium......
I had a coach tell me a few years back that if he had a choice, he would bring his team into the Tank from the Ohio U. side of the stadium rather than let his players see that wall and the pictures.......
and the Tank is where it all started way back when.......

i used to know the C.A.P.E. coach, though i can't remember his name he sent me a cape jersey years ago for my collection,
he told me:
that tanks memorial stadium was the most intimidating place he ever played at or coached in.and he said that crowd is crazy.

Looking for a Ironton win and won't be easy but I think this game is big for both teams and Ironton needs it for a confidence builder and Jackson for the points.
Be a great game and I hope a safe one for both teams
