But, it's another to post with an arrogance — and be unable to spell properly.

The word is "forfeit" not "forfit".

And people ask what is wrong with today's education.

As for the game, this thread is already out of hand, so I will just say good luck to both teams.
Hey buddy piss off. Calling them yellow rockets is a joke, just like everyone from wellston calls us buchtel instead of nelsonville. Yes most ny posters on here are ignorant and believe we can beat anyone. We haved played tough teams like Ironton and St. Clairesville and got our a$$es handed to us a couple of times but in o8 we played pretty good against Ironton went into the locker room at half time winning and pissed the game away after that. So far this year we have played 5 games like most other schools 3 being tough games we have won and 2 pretty easy teams. All have been blowouts so as of right now we deserve to be a little cocky until someone knocks us off of our high horse, imo noone will come close until week 10 but we will still pull off another win. And lastly anytime ny posters get on a thread it gets out of hand and we look pretty ignorant, including myself probably, were cocky and we know it, but when you have over half the tvc titles and have won it the last 8 yrs its ok to brag.

I wouldnt think this is true at all. I would say that Logan who put 32 on Jackson and Newark Cath. would be and Bishop Ready also. This will be the best TVC team they have played up to this point.

The Prater boy is an all round good kid. will be cheering for him next year. Good luck to him.

Not to hijack this thread with any football talk or anything, :) , but not being familiar with the Rockets this year, can someone from Wellston give a breakdown of the Rockets in 2011? Strengths weaknesses?

I thought NY would be pretty good going into this year, and they've certainly looked the part. I didn't expect blowout wins against Ready or Logan, so I'm pleasantly surprised. The 3rd quarter against Logan was the only time all year the offense has looked out of synch, with several dropped/overthrown passes that could've gone the distance. Probably had something to do with Logan's defense, but NY has a pretty balanced attack, and the defense has been great thus far. ST has been really solid as well, so they've been solid in all respects, and fun to watch. The 2nd half of the season will be interesting. I thought going in they sould be 2-3 or 3-2 at this point, so 10-0 is a possibility, if they work hard and play smart.

Looking forward to a good, injury free game!

Go Bucks!!

Buckeye Nut... The reason you have missed him is because he played hurt last year..He will have to have the best game of his life for Wellston to have a chance to win against NY.
Close at halftime with NY winning 42-14

Wellston offense is Avg. But the d-line is the weak link IMO, good LB and secondary, I hope big #70 will be able to be in action friday he is 6"5 over 300 pounds he will help the rockets out in the middle!

NY is well above Alexandria in terms of their schedule.... www.joeeitel.com

I think this game will be closer than a lot of people think. I come to that conclusion by comparing scores, which is a very poor way to try pick the winner of a HS football game. One team's weakness may be another team's strength and that throws comparing scores out the window. My pick would be NY in a close game. However I believe Wellston could win and I believe NY could win in a blowout. I know that sounds like something from a candidate for political office, but I'm truly not running.

Jackson beat Logan by a 17 point spread.
NY beat Logan by a 36 point spread.
Jackson beat Wellston by a 35 point spread.
So what am I missing here..
If the Buckeyes stay focused and play this game with intensity And cut back on some of the penalties
they should come out on top. The Buckeyes MUST come out strong and play all 4 quarters the rest of the way.......

Vinton County beat Piketon 30-27
Piketon beat Waverly ...

You would think Vinton would have handled Waverly when they played week 4 ... Final score: Waverly 33, Vinton County 0.

Go figure.

2 + 2 never = 4 when your talking high school football NYBUX ,,, (Do I still think NY wins? Heck yea, their the best team I have seen all year.)

Comparing scores does not take strengths and weaknesses into account.
Team A may have a strong team in a certain area that allows them to exploit a weakness that team B has.
Team C is weak in that area and cannot exploit team B the way team did.
Thus many times comparing scores does not work.

I went on joe eitel's site. It easy to see all of a teams scores and the records of who they have played. It is then very easy to bring up the scores and records of the teams your opponents have played.

I didn't use the term common opponent. I looked at all the teams they played, the 'guesstimated' strength of that opponent and the score. People compare scores in more ways than common opponents. Sorry if I was confusing.
