As a neutral follower of SEO teams in general (i.e. - Ironton, Logan) I believe Logan will (and should) win this game but come playoff time the Tigers will go further facing the likes of Amanda-Clearcreek or Bishop Hartley than Logan will facing probably either Louisville (rematch) or Marion-Franklin in the regionals this year. For the Ironton fans, you could take a early look at Bishop Hartley on Oct. 16th @ Gallipolis if you want to skip the Portsmouth game which you will win anyway. Just my thoughts !!!!!

Also, along with my earlier post above. IRONTON put southeastern ohio football on the map and should be respected as much for that as anything along with their continued playoff history. LOGAN has in the recent past probably been the best team in all of SEO but I think too many people take it to the extreme as to how good they are and have been recently. Until they beat people in the playoffs consistently and get to at least the regional finals more than 10 times and the state finals at least 6 times then Ironton is still the benchmark for that part of the state. There again, just my opinion :)

Hey FAn,

You just lost your neutrality. You can not help yourself. It is Chieftain Envy. Do not resist. Hop on the bandwagon. it is the only known cure.

Logan was on state wide TV this season. Logan is ranked in every statewide poll. You are a history buff. Soon to be ancient history. i like history. Heck my son is a history major.

If you are a fan then you would understand Logan plays much toughewr competition much quicker in the playoffs. Get the concept.

If I go to the Burg-Rock Hill game, might come over at halftime to see how this one is playing out.

I think Logans passing game might just be to much for the Tigers unless they can get to Angle. If he is just able to stand back in the pocket with no rush, he will pick Itown apart. If they can get to him a few times and get some good licks on him, he might be looking over his shoulder and cause him to throw some balls a little quicker than he wants.

You need to remember, anything can happen. I remember irontonbeating a good Germantown Valley View team one year after they had knocked VV's starting QB out of the game. I think his name was Strayer and he had picked the Burg apart the week before. VV was winning easily up until he went out and then they had to bring in a Freshman and Itown rolled from there.

JMO___I don't think Ironton has the pass defense to stay with Logan.

If you come at half time you may not see much of Pat. he usually only plays about 2 1/2 quarters. I expect nothing different this week.

2old, no Chieftain envy here. Just stating facts but I do understand Logan plays much tougher competition in the playoffs. I've been in person to watch the Tri-Valley and Louisville games the last 2 years and watched many games during the Conrad years and even back in the day went to games when Chuck Kemper and company played for Logan in the 60's along with many Gallipolis games over the years so I know my history on Logan, I even remember when Athens beat Logan pretty regularly, long ago. I am neutral as I've also watched Ironton in many playoff , league and other games over the years at Ironton, Lancaster, Westfall, DeSales, Olentangy Liberty, Groveport and of course in Ohio Stadium and Canton / Massillon among other places. There are divisions for a reason and that's the way it should be. Good luck to both teams :) (p.s. - And by the way 2old, aren't you an alumni of WELLSTON ?)

Fan,

it is not breaking news i am an alumnus at Wellston. It seems I have few secrets on this forum. I do not hide behind a screen name like some posters.

I have seen many games to. Woo hoo!!!!

You claim neutrality. You aren't, you are a history buff like the rest of the Ironton supporters. Go watch your old films. I will watch the Chiefs on live tv or dvd.

That explains even more. No wonder the bitterness. I do not blame you.

85,

i have no gripe with the Tigers over my time at Wellston. We had a perfect record against the Tigers. The team I played for from WELLSTON had the same record against Ironton as the 2000's edition of the Chiefs. UNDEFEATED BABY!!!!!

Im only going to post on here one time. If Ironton comes out and plays like they did against Ashland they will get stomped. You cant turn the ball over and expect to win against a good team. Now if they come out and play like they did at Russell and be physical then they will have a very good chance to win. This will be a close game, but the Tigers will pull it out.

Angle and co. will be too much for the Tigers. Too much speed and athleticism on the side of the Chiefs for Ironton to contain. Logan by 3+ TD's.
