Burg. I'll be here since it's less than 20 miles.

BG 77 - Nelsonville's field is about 20 minutes from Peden Stadium at OU. I'm not sure if I'd classify Boston Field as the middle of nowhere.... ;-)

Boston Field has joined the ranks of the big time! Considering school construction will be finished after this school year, we might see at least one non-NY playoff game at Boston Field every season now! :-D

Boston Field seats around 2600. Home-1500, Visitor's-1100. Plus plenty of standing room.

Quit whining about the drive and seats- we should just be thankful that we are still playing and happy to make the drive- i would say if you would ask those teams that are not playing that they would glady trade us- suck it up get ready to play ball on friday night- if not stay home- go burg

Nothing against NY stadium as I'm sure it's a nice facility, but why make both of these schools fans drive out through Gods country into the middle of nowhere when this could have been played in the Columbus area and fans could have driven on good highways in Rt 23 and Rt 71 to get to the game.

The OHSAA never fails to amaze me.

Nelsonville is not in the middle of nowhere. You can drive from Nelsonville to downtown Columbus in one hour.

Wheelersburg to Nelsonville = 1 hour 41 minutes / 85.99 miles

Fredericktown to Nelsonville = 1 hour 59 minutes / 113.71 miles

Wheelersburg has the shorter drive, and Fredericktown is the number one seed. Pirates fans shouldn't be complaining! :-D

Ironton and Wheelersburg fans need to eat at the Coffee Cup in Nelsonville. The prime rib is excellent and the Mt. Dew is served in wine glasses! ;-)

Go Burg!

I am happy with Nelsonville-York though I have not been to the stadium yet. Is it close to Route 33? Can I see the lights from the highway? (My favorite way to find a new stadium.)

Nonsense, we got 10 points off that fumble (safety, free kick from the 20 for short drive for 6, plus 2-point conversion for a 3-pt lead at the time). If we had not fumbled, we would have gotten 7, tied the game and given the ball back to Monroe Central in better territory. I have never seen a more adventageous fumble in my life!

(Not that I would EVERY recommend doing it again...)

I am sure the Wheelersburg kids will enjoy playing at NY. They have an awesome facility. Don't fill up too much at the restaurants in town because they cook up some great food at the concessions too. You will get a lot of us local football fans coming to cheer for the Burg also. You guys beat a very very good team in MC last week and get another good test this week. I think it will be a fun game to watch.

1100 for the visitors side?? Looks like I'll need to get there early as the Burg faithful will more than fill that up very quickly.

Sounds like a great place to play and glad that it is on turf and not at Lancaster. Feel for the Oak Hill fans that have to go there. Oak Hill should be the home team, so they shouldn't have problems with seating.

Good luck Pirates. Time for a little revenge!!!!!
