^^^but West Jeff also beat a Lucas team that smashed Centerburg. My big question again falls to, will West Jeff make it, or will they be one of the better non playoff teams of 2016?

Re: Region 23
Heath is a solid team, with 2 weapons on offense.
They have a solid player on defense.
They have a nice win over a bigger, but not anything special Licking Heights team and a blowout win over Newark Catholic, who was missing five starters.
We will know a ton more on heath, when they battle Johnstown in week ten, for the league title.

Stan_Marsh wrote:Good point Eastern. Centerburg just lost a game 32-24 to a Highland team that I don't think is too bad. Highlands losses come from a great Heath team, a playoff bound Bloom-Carroll team, and River Valley whose record so far isn't very impressive. I hear Centerburg fought hard in this one and it could have gone either way. Centerburg apparently has a decent passing attack, but on defense struggled to stop Highlands run game. This game and Cenerburgs HUGE victory over Cardington kind of changed my outlook on them. I'm still not sold on the Trojan defense, but their offense seems to be legit.
Hard to tell just comparing scores I wouldn't say either of those games Centerburg vs Lucas and Lucas vs West Jefferson were blowouts both games were 14 points. Football is a weekly game Fort lost in playoffs 13-0 to Fredricktown and that was no blowout. Fort trailed 6-0 with a few mins left

Yeah, they sound down to me.
Kirtland has played 1 "decent team" thus far and if MSML had played the same it would be 300+ to maybe 14.

I believe they have the same schedule as last season, a schedule that prepared them well enough to defeat Marion Local in the state finals.
Then again what do I know?

Well for starters I didn't say West Jeff blew out Lucas. Really gotta quit putting words in my mouth and/or learn to read. I was wrong by saying Lucas smashed Centerburg, that was only a 14 point game not sure why my mind went blank on that one. Fort Frye and Fredericktown was not a blowout, but defensively for the Freddies it was, they owned the Cadet offense. Argue with the wall 0 points speaks for itself. And the Freddy D-line was not that impressiveEasternDspy wrote:Stan_Marsh wrote:Good point Eastern. Centerburg just lost a game 32-24 to a Highland team that I don't think is too bad. Cadets offense did get shut down Lewis did have a couple nice runs. Cadets did have it inside the 10 twice though.

I hear Fort Frye is a good team. The Warrior coaches have said they are better than Barnesville.

Don't win 18 reg season games in a row by accident.
Re: Region 23
Lots of what ifs in this region.
Looking at everyones schedule and making predictions, her is what I see.
Top 4: River- Newark Cath, Chesapeake, and Fort Frye. Not specifically in that order.
Second four comes from: Dawson-Bryant, Barnesville, Centerburg, Cardington-Lincoln, and Bellaire. Bishop Ready might sneak in.

Re: Region 23
As a Bellaire Fan, I'm still in doubt where Bellaire will finish . 7-3 seems the more likely of the scenarios, although a 6-4 or 8-2 would not shock me. In the four remaining games Bellaire will put the two best athletes on the field in receiver, returners Keyser and Burney. Keyser a State placer in the 300 hurdles and Burney a 49. 400 meter runner. Running back/receiver Tyson Camsky has rushed for over 600 yards and several hundred receiving. Quarterback Mason Ramsey has passed for 1,200 yards with 14 touchdowns to date.

What happens when Bellaire plays a bigger team?

With the exception of Shadyside the other three teams are larger then Bellaire. Of the six played to date three of them have been larger and two equal.

To me Bellaire still has a lot to prove. Out of the 4 wins they have only Harrison Central (3-3) could be considered quality. If they finish 7-3 or 6-4 it will he earned and respect will be earned.

St Clairsville beat them pretty bad tonight.

Ya don't say genius? Don't worry the Cadets would not make it with West Jeff's schedule either. In fact once again the Cadets will probably be one and done losing to a mediocre school for central Ohio standards. It's not quite the cupcake valley like out east is.EasternDspy wrote:After West Jeff lost again tonight to go to (2-5) its time to put them to rest Stan.

The fact that Northridge would be a better team in your league shows how much of a joke football out there is

Wheather people think that Minford is good is irrelevant only treason I even brought it up was that the 2nd level points the Cadets received in the game was enough to put Fort ahead of River.
