That's funny! Are you serious Solomon?

Dave Bolender hasn't coached at VC for like thirty some years(back when VC had the teachers strike). I don't even remember what his record was. Granted, he has ran the clock at football games forever, but I don't think he wants to get back into coaching.
The job is Burelson's....I wish him the best.

Dave Bolender has not coached since 1968. He was Vinton County's first football coach; 1966 to 1968, where he complied a record of 13-15, winning a MOVC Championship in 1966.
What is even more peculiar, Todd Braden? He has never coach and currently lives in Florida. Just one more example to the credibility of this site and especially its posters.

I'm not an expert on Vc football, but I do know that they had some good strong teams, I don't think it would be impossible to build a program

Hopefully whoever the new coach is, the community will get behind him and give them the support and resources to succeed. VC could be a force in the TVC again. It wont be overnight but the potential is there. I just wish we could get get on the same page, from flag all the way to high school. With clear goals in mind for the future of VC football.

BO was not coach during strike, Camm Richmond was.
Bo started out as the coach my freshman year, resigned before season started Steve Arnold took over. 1969.

I heard from a pretty reliable source that he was hired last night. Coach Burleson will do a great job.

So, how long until this guy gets run out of town? I can't wait to see all of the "the community needs to get behind this guy" and "the administration needs to support him". Then he will lose a few games and it will be "he is running the ball to much" (because we all know the answer to a team losing is throw the ball) and "this guy is too predictable on offense".
I really wish that the program does get back to the old days but come on... People think that VC should win every year. It is just not going to happen. All I can say is for the programs sake give this guy some time to get things going and don't run him out as soon as he has a losing season.

He did not leave for the coaching job. He left for the teaching job. Not because he realized that SG will get smashed in the T.V.C that may be true but he did not leave for that reason.

Two things I can GUARANTEE will happen at VC:
1. Justy will have winning seasons and everyone will love him.
2. Justy will have losing seasons and everyone will want his head on a platter.

Justy has an offense that is too complicated for this type of scrutiny:
1. Run Right
2. Run Left
3. Run Again
4. Chuck it

I will have to second that.

4-3 Defense, I formation favorite plays Long Trap, Toss Sweep , off tackle and fade pass pattern has dabbled in the veer and midline but his favorite offense is the I. Good basic football.
