Jackson 49 - Waverly 9 - FINAL.
Congrats to the Ironmen on a great effort tonight in Waverly. After a tough first week, Jackson rebounded about as well as possible with a huge win against the Tigers. Jackson's offensive line controlled the line of scrimmage and allowed Arthur and Ervin to run wild. Both Klay and Drew eclipsed the 100 yard mark on, I believe, only 11 and 9 carries respectively. As a team, Jackson rushed for over 430 yards and added another 112 through the air to end up with nearly 550 yards of total offense. Kip Winchester played a very solid football game at QB and was outstanding on the other side of the football as well. Nice to see a big play in the passing game by Ty McNelly too. It all starts with the big boys up front, though, and they played extremely well tonight. The Jackson defense was able to hold Waverly's first team offense to only 3 points, which is a major improvement over last week's effort. The boys played with a lot of emotion and were really flying to the football, for the most part. The return of OJ Barr made a huge difference for the D, in my opinion. Can't really put too many other thoughts together right now, other than it will be good for the Ironmen to return home to Alumni Stadium next week. Gotta work hard this week in practice and get ready for Vinton County in the last pre-SEOAL matchup.

congrats to the ironmen...that is a lot of offense regardless of who you are playing.
