Add Iowa State to the list of schools who have officially offered Burrow a scholarship.

Paladin has to be beside himself at this point. How could a recruiter of his stature not foresee these four players, who play in an area that he claims to know well, as being D1 prospects?

Where did you see that? None of the recruiting sites I have seen show that. He has 9 official offers that have been confirmed by Scout and Rivals. No mention of Yale.
1. Ohio
2. Toledo
3. Western Michigan
4. Central Michigan
5. Fresno State
6. Cincinnati
7. West Virginia
8. Maryland
9. Iowa State

Scout.com aslo reports contact from Illinois, Kentcky, Nebraska and Michigan State but no official offer from any of those schools as of yet.

Just what I heard from a teacher that has him as a student. Its probably because it might be an academic scholarship rather than an athletic scholarship. I'd say Nebraska and Tennessee will happen soon. He's talked to them for over a year

Someone on another site is reporting its Athens at Steubenville on Oct. 3rd.
Is this a done deal?

I heard that it is all but a done deal. Steubenville made an offer that was going to be pretty hard to turn down.

Offer hard to turn down?

What can a high school offer? Just curious.

The only offer I would like to hear is "we'll come play you on The Plains."

Maybe they offered a 2 for 1
Play one game at Steubenville and they will come to the plains twice.
That would be hard to turn down IMO

Maybe a percentage of the gate...that has been done before as an incentive to travel.

That would be hard to turn down.

But I doubt Steubenville would offer that. My guess is they offered to compensate Athens, possibly to an amount that is equal to their largest gate (say the NY game) and give Athens that cut of the gate.

I would guess that would be a great deal for both schools. Steubenville is a LONG way away, but I'd consider making that trip. Never been to a game at "DEATH VALEY."

It is no secret that the Big Red don't like to play on the road and their gates are HUGE.

Steubenville will have 9 home games in 2014.

That's ridiculous ... 9 home games.

I like the idea of playing Steuby - but I'm not a fan of traveling to Zanesville AND to Steubenville next year.

Some years ago, I was talking to a guy from down their at a baseball clinic and he was telling me that one year they only scheduled 6 home games and the fans threw a fit, and they ended up offering enough money to 2 of their road teams to play at Steubenville......
I didn't know the guy well enough to know if he was blowing smoke up my arse or not, but it sounded like something they would do.

93, I was told by a reliable source that Steubenville offered $2000.00 of the gate and to pay for charter buses for our team/staff. Just what I was told, take it for what it is worth.
