if you follow region 17 i have a feeling it be a shame for teams 6-7-8 lol!! ironton has improved alot since game 1LetsGoPSU wrote:didn't Portsmouth beat Ironton? 33-20 I believe....tells me Ironton isn't that good and at 4-6 it would be a shame to see them in a playoff game.JMHO

Re: Portsmouth to the OVC?
Since Portsmouth and Ironton are in, will most the OVC be updating visitors side seating, restrooms and concession-stand? It's been Afew years but remember the visitor side on some schools needed work!! I know some have new field turf and the all new facelift, where does that leave the rest?
Re: Portsmouth to the OVC?
What a Basketball league this is going to be!!! This league is basketball rich but give it a few years for the football to grow and it will be just as tough. I'm looking at the whole picture here and the league is going to be a good league for boys and girls sports!!! Just maybe later they can get an OVC-SOC showdown for a Trophy like the ACC-Big Ten does men and women basketball??? Football???? Etc.

In todays football no reason to have poor restrooms and visitors seating14U wrote:Since Portsmouth and Ironton are in, will most the OVC be updating visitors side seating, restrooms and concession-stand? This is going to be a great league in all sports I believe and great gates and easier on the budgets for Ironton and Portsmouth. Travel will be less and rivalries will be formed I believe with these additions just a great move by the OVC

First of all... Portsmouth would leave any league they are in if, the SOC 2 would let them in!
Second... I think Jackson would be a great fit for the SOC 2!

I would think the only one I would be concerned with would be Fairlaind. The Peak visitors side is small but the rest are in good shape.noreply66 wrote:In todays football no reason to have poor restrooms and visitors seating14U wrote:Since Portsmouth and Ironton are in, will most the OVC be updating visitors side seating, restrooms and concession-stand? Fairland has new Visitor bleachers that were installed this fall. They are similar in size to Chesapeake's visitor bleachers. Much nicer than what was there before, but they are cozy.
All OVC schools have very nice or relatively new outdoor facilities. Some nicer and newer than others of course, but each with their own ambiance, if you will.
I'm just glad that we can stop and get a Hickey's Double Cheeseburger and fries with gravy on the way to the Portsmouth game. :-)

these schools aside from Portsmouth , and ironton need to be adding some bleachers.even rock hill and coal grove with new facilities, not nearly enough bleachers.i've not seen south points new facility.portsmouth has a pretty good size visitor side , and still not nearly big enough for ironton's crowds.

ironton gets back on track, you'll find few schools around that can accommodate the way they travel, like burg's about half what it needs to be. :aaaaa26 :aaaaa26 :aaaaa26 :aaaaa26 :aaaaa26 :aaaaa26 :aaaaa26
