Nothing would make me happier than an annual visit to Chieftain land to take on the purple and white ...

Love giving my old pals Pfloyd, Locos and 2old a good earful when the DOGS square off against the CHIEFS!

Ironman02 ... we meeting at BW3's or what?

I think you need to pay up from last year before you get in the hole so big to ol93 that you can't afford to get out ...

lol

I owe you one trip to B-Dub's, right? I can't even really remember at this point. :-D

I'm hoping to get done at work early on Friday and leave Columbus in time to make it down to eat before the game. I'll have a better idea on Thursday, so I'll let you know then if that's cool.

Not that it matters much, but Athens is #6 in D3 in the first AP Poll.

Looks like Wheelersburg is #2 in D5. Like everyone has been saying, tough three game stretch for Jackson.

Lol. Emma and Dominique can pay for themselves. I'm still bitter!

The Ironladies will have their revenge this winter!

Think our writer buddy is gonna join us. Hopefully I can make it on time.

That depends. If he follows through with what he's been saying - and takes Jackson in the picks contest ... he may be faced with a lifetime ban from all Athens establishments ... so the answer would be no.

You may also see him walking the sidelines Friday as a ban from the press box could take place as well ...

93Dog, how many district and/or playoff appearances did Athens football and boys and girls basketball have in the 15 years prior to the move to the TVC? I don't fault Athens for the move, but they were struggling in the big sports for the most part. As we see now, Athens sports are in a boom period and they are looking to schedule up.

Schedule up? That's laughable at this point, just because a school is a division higher doesn't mean you are scheduling up. Athens would destroy Logan right now, five years from now.......who knows, but right now the Chiefs would want no part of the Bulldogs!

I am sick of hearing about Athens and Logan on a thread about Athens and Jackson!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I really don't give a poop weather they play again or not! It wasn't a rivalry for years because Logan won most of the time.

Now can we please talk about Athens vs Jackson (a game that is actually being played)

Jackson played their first real game last week and it showed. They didn't play a good game either so it looked worse than it was.

All depends on how they start this Friday night if they will be in this game. If they start out slow Athens will win big. Even Athens had a bad game last week but their results was the opposite of Jackson's .

If both teams keep the mistakes down I can see Athens winning 20/00

Big differnce between Warren and West Jeff this year. I would Rather this young Ironman team lose to teams like West Jeff than dominate lesser teams. Like to play Athens week twoo next year instead of Waverly.

N-Y is in the TVC and will win their 3rd in a row against Logan this year. Be glad Athens did "cut and run," unless you enjoy those 50 point beatings the good teams on your schedule are handing to you.

I believe we have Zanesville slated for week 2 next year but this is definitely a series that I would really like to see continued and I think most Bulldog fans feel the same way. Jackson gained a lot of valuable experience last week with West Jefferson and will put that to good use in the future.

I believe after this game is finished on Friday night that the upshot will be that Jackson is not as bad as they are being portrayed after the West Jefferson game and maybe Athens has not peaked or be as good as the hype yet.

Don't get me wrong Athens is probably the best area team no doubt, and they are clearly the favorites make no mistake about it, but they may be surprised at how not so bad Jackson is or at least is being portrayed after the West Jefferson game.

In a couple days we will know, but I think that may be what we find out Friday. Still rooting for David in the David vs. Goliath match-up.

Jackson? David?
Athens? Goliath?

Did I just venture into some sort of weird alternate universe or something?

lol

Athens will never be Goliath - and Jackson will never be David - when speaking of these two teams on a football field.
