They lost two or three from their big rotation. Colter Thompson is a big loss but Athens bigs were mostly juniors and sophomores. Why 2014 Athens was a lot better than 2013 Athens. Athens should have a dominate line but scoring will be the question mark for Athens

If that is the case then it should be a battle up front bc the talk so far this summer has been Logan's big hog molly's up front. Quick, strong and physical.

Last year he was, real size 5'11 205. Now about 215. I've never seen a skill player as strong as him, maybe grant Gregory. Seen Saltzman rep out 225, 10 times for bench as a freshman. I could barely move 225 as a freshman

LOL I know the feeling raider.Bench press was always something I tried to stay as far away as I could back then with my skinny body, but now it's my favorite lol.Sounds like Saltzman will be a problem for Logan defense if they can get him the ball in open space, thank goodness them other skill players are gone so Logan can gang bang him :122249

Logan always has a big line, question is will they be in good enough shape to go both ways if they have to with low numbers.Last few years they been worn out by the second half esp. defensively.I am sure Athens will have lineman go both ways also so it will all come down to who has better endurance if both teams are healthy.

Yeah, Logan usually has some big lines :122248 :122248    and some special groups of big quick physical strong lines over the years. I'm hearing this years lineman are a good group. Have to wait and see Bolt. Been hearing some other good things too about the team, but I'll leave it at that.

Athens will be a good football team. Saltzman and Wiseman are very good players, could play on any team in SE Ohio. They also return a fair amount up front.

Plus, this group has basically gotten an entire extra season worth of practice.

But Logan has nine other games to worry about too, so leave the Athens analysis on the game thread.

Things really gearing up in purple land. Still think this group can be really good if they progress the way you would expect them too. Lots of depth up front and some really nice offensive pieces in Little, Smith, and McBride.

Defense will need improve, and I think Burke moving to that side of the ball is an indication of that. Hopefully some of the linebackers who were hurt last season can come back strong and be ready to go full speed. Secondary has some really nice players to replace, but I think the pieces are there.

Visited Logan last week and over the week-end. Got a look at the Chiefs. They are everything that I have heard. Size, speed, skills. They look very good. Also got to pig out at the Olde Dutch for several dinners and lunch at the Home Tavern with an old classmate. Barring injury, Logan looks to be back to good football again . If QB is on, they will be a handful for anyone. BTW, where were folks at with the downtown festival over the week-end ?

SEOAL gets a ole fashioned black eye in Week 1 taking multiple losses to TVC teams.

Gallia, Logan and Jackson fall to Meigs, Athens and Wellston.

Next year student-athletes start to move around to teams that have a league to play in.

Players that excel and work hard in off season like to receive recognition.

They also like, using football as an example, to play 10 not 8-9 regular season games, and compete in the playoffs.

VC-NY-Athens-Wellston all welcome these athletes from Logan and Jackson next year. So yeah I may be a newbie who has some kids now competing in HS sports, but at least I do not have my head buried in the Logan "clay" as to what will start to happen.

Ok well when that freshman or sophomore exceptional student-athlete doesn't want to travel 2 hours every other Friday night to play an independent schedule and an 8-9 game schedule at that and open enrolls at NY or VC then let me know.

A 1/2 season to sit out is an easy exchange for playing 10 regular season games plus play-offs plus earning league honors.

Keep that head buried and talk about the good ole days at the der Dutchman over a cup of coffee.

Let me simplify this for you.

The TVC is the latest and greatest iPhone, newest release or version.

The SEOAL is a black rotary dial phone plugged into a phone jack.

Any questions or need further clarification?

Don't worry about Logan Jim Dandy Don, we will be fine. Go back to the Wellston thread where you belong and dream on.
