Yes, I have and I agree they have speed in the backfield but their line is not as big and seemed slow off the ball to me. Did not appear to have as many players dressed as they usually do unless the were hiding some somewhere.Buramgerdin wrote: Mon Sep 11, 2017 10:49 pmHave you seen Ashland? They are better this year than they were last, no doubt. Last year they man handled Ironton at Ironton. This year they are much faster on both sides of the ball. Expect #10, #6, and #8 to all rip off long runs because Ironton doesn't have anyone that can run even remotely close to any of the three.Native Blood wrote: Mon Sep 11, 2017 4:07 pm Ashland is down a little this year but I believe they will win this one handily.

Jordan 6-3 224
Ryan 6-3 220
Stone 6-3 261
Wardle - 6-2 255
Hanks 6-0 218
They can all move too. I watched them beat Raceland who is a very good football team. Their line was much faster than Racelands.

I do believe it was Bob Lester, as he was the head coach long before I started playing for the point. I played for south point 67-70 and Bob White (my cousin) was the asst coach along with Buddy Bell.YOU'RE TIGER BAIT wrote: Mon Sep 11, 2017 8:47 am okay I looked through from the 30's until present day. in 1932 pedro high school(rock hill school district) beat ironton 8-0. and south point beat ironton in 1962 south point beat ironton 12-6, and in 66 south point beat ironton 20-8. under then ironton coach bob bruney. I'm curious as to who was the south point coach at the time, it may have been my other uncle bob white who is carl whites brother.

Game will be close, Ironton beat Russell 35-7, Ashland beat Russell 30-14.
I say it will be Ironton 28- Ashland 17.

ouch jason, I think the fighting tigers right the ''cathouse fight'' back over to where it needs to be 27-24. and pull out a close one here over the tomcats. tigers are meaner cats than tomcats, time to prove it on the field. if reading everybody's posts about the tigers team, players n coaches don't start breathing fire after reading all the hogwarsh around they read here. then they ain't never gonna get fired up. a winning streak needs to start here to make anybody a believer. I wish I could be there. there's an outside possibility if'n bait gets off early Friday.if not i'll be heads in to the iheart radio station.

I heard some of the kids were thrown out of the weight room this week from Ironton. I hope they can right this ship quickly over the next couple weeks.

me too, I hadn't heard that. but there's likely gonna be a kersplosion of emotions before this season is over. they need to invite bob lutz to the locker room before the game and let him give the whole lot, coaches and players a come to Jesus talk we used to call them.

Re: WEEK 4 IRONTON @ ASHLAND, KY. YOUR THOUGHTS.
I believe it was 1974, Ironton beat south point by 2 points at south point with one or two south point touchdowns called back. I think ironton went on to play in, if not win first state title. ironton refused to play south point for many years after that. from 1968 to 1978 south point was the county powerhouse. Hey bait, call you're uncle bob for details. he was coaching at south point. ask him how he came in at quarterback (from being a guard the previous season) for ironton in 1954, threw some td passes and beat Ashland for first time in several years, great story! It is also in the tribune archives. uncle bob and uncle carl are former ironton quarterbacks and coaches. long family history with ironton and the white family

Re: WEEK 4 IRONTON @ ASHLAND, KY. YOUR THOUGHTS.
Good luck tigers! I think if we lose this game there will be no playoffs, haven't looked at the bottom of the computer points yet, this game could be a great points game for us if we pull it out, GO TIGERS!!

Re: WEEK 4 IRONTON @ ASHLAND, KY. YOUR THOUGHTS.
Don't know about him but I'm pretty sure a few of the ironton posters that used to make some of the more outlandish comments are now posting under different names.P(irate) wrote: Fri Sep 15, 2017 12:43 am You know what. Re: WEEK 4 IRONTON @ ASHLAND, KY. YOUR THOUGHTS.
Walk down memory lane. Week 3 1979. Ironton (2-0) @ Washington C.H. We were without RB/CB Gabriel Lewis and DT Joe Hacker. Looking back, this game proved to be pivotal as to the success of the season. How many of you remember the outcome of this game?
