Yep. But truth be told, most of it was started by XandO72. He was giving daily sermons about 0-3 and how Burg was going to fall off the map. You could tell he had a personal axe to grind. Oddly enough, haven't seen any posts from him since Burg beat Ashland.14U wrote: ↑Sun Sep 15, 2019 12:55 pmBack when I was on the burg topic after the Ironton game there were Ironton fans talking, trolling bad! Yes ur right he was the main one sometimes up to 3 post in a row, post and talk to himself, lol. I think XandO72 has since change his name to nekysportsfan if not they’re related. But back to topic, burg should have won by 13-17 points so I believe Ironton on paper will win by that. With this being a rival and bragging rights, this game might be closer.Otto wrote: ↑Sun Sep 15, 2019 1:14 pmYep. But truth be told, most of it was started by XandO72. Ashland is pretty good, I can see this being closer than expected. Ironton is good but are underachieving, especially with their first 3 opponents. Only 1 running clock. They haven't been as advertised.

Will be a tough challenge. Russell game will help them Friday . Ashland won’t quit like some other teams.

This game is always a slobber knocker. I can see Ashland at home giving the Le Tigres all they want. Should be a good one. I think Itown goes straight at Ashland and runs the vintage offense of ground and pound. The other team can't score if they don't have the ball.
Re: Week 4 (3-0) Ironton @ (3-1) Ashland Ky
Ashland Run defense is pretty good. Ironton will have to pass some. Ironton might do better against their run. I think ironton wins by a couple of tds

I agree with woby. I think it ends up about a 2 score win for ironton. Ashland probably matches up well size wise along the lines and they do have a couple of good backs if they are healthy but I look for ironton to just wear them down as the game goes on. Ashland doesn’t appear to be that proficient throwing the ball, if they can find a little bit of that it may open up some running lanes. It will be interesting to see how this turns out. Every game is about matchups and you can’t compare the scores of common opponents. Looking forward to this game and see how it turns out

Everyone knows that you can call holding on every play. I watched Ashland and Ironton play a lot in the 90's . I saw home cooking at each place." It is what it is" It happens wherever you play!! Burg,Ports.,RH,CG,Waverly,Jackson??wobycat wrote: ↑Sat Sep 14, 2019 12:43 pmThis opinion is bad, no offense. The last two drives of Ashland that resulted in tds came about because the lack of holding calls from the official on burgs side. The coaches were screaming for it but he didn’t give it to them. You can’t pick out one play and say that TD was called back because of a hold purposefully or you think he touched a punt. Both teams made mistakes and the officials were pretty even. Game could have went either way. The greenup Minford game however sounds like a different storyItsMyOpinion wrote: ↑Sat Sep 14, 2019 12:04 pm This game will be closer than most expect. Game is played at Ashland. Officiating will keep this game closer than most believe. Games are called differently when officials only have to answer to one side. Perfect example last night with Minford at Greenup Co. (Ton of penalties against Minford) Ashland at Wheelersburg. Touched punt not called against Wheelersburg and 80 yard touchdown called back against Ashland. Plus it is a rivalry game so anything can happen.

these are 2 physical teams that have been playing each other since right after signing the declaration of independence. we will have to try to dominate them with our run game , and work some on the passing game when it's not expected. the main thing here will be not having penalties. and handling the rock. because Ashland will be slapping at it and trying to strip it. I would advise against stretching the ball out to reach a line. carry the ball in the outside arm always, and carry it high n tight. like a boot camp haircut.

Ashland has the speed and athletes to challenge Ironton. Ironton will win but it will be close.

they certainly do. they always do. Ashland is a great quality foe. and always have been. I'd be interested in hearing the series total for this game. ironton wins, losses and ties and the same for Ashland against ironton, that would be interesting. I bet it is very close.burgfella69 wrote: ↑Mon Sep 16, 2019 9:08 am Ashland has the speed and athletes to challenge Ironton. Ironton will win but it will be close.

Re: Week 4 (3-0) Ironton @ (3-1) Ashland Ky
ironton has outscored 3 quality opponent in burg, Russell, and fairland 89-12. so they are giving up 4.3 pts a game. they are averaging scoring 29.6 points a game. ironton is 3-0 and is currently ranked number 1 in the state in d5, region 19.
Ashland is 3-1 with their only loss being a 33-34 loss to a good wheelersburg team. they have outscored their opposition 166-70. so they are giving up 17.5 points a game. while scoring an average of 41.5 points a game.
so this should be another exciting game for the fighting tigers before they resume league play in the ovc. these are alwas great exciting games.
