Gee. You make Ridgewood sound desperate. Apparently, nobody wants to play The . . . Spiders(?) . . . Ridgebacks(?) . . . Whatever they are.RaceEagle wrote: ↑Wed Mar 04, 2020 9:14 amOnce again.... He was being sarcastic. People knock Fort Frye schedule but they scored the most harbin points in school history. Ridgewood and Garaway are elite programs and Fort with smaller numbers is just trying to avoid that game. Fort has about 30-35 kids 1 injury could really cost them the season. It might come down to Fort has to take one of those games.

Re: Fort Frye needs games 2021
Ridgewood 165 boys (cb-169)
Garaway 152 boys (CB- 163)
Fort Frye 132 boys (CB- 145)
Not by any means a significant difference. Both schools are in the same division in boys basketball and baseball
157 is the cutoff for D6 in football
Garaway 152 boys (CB- 163)
Fort Frye 132 boys (CB- 145)

This explanation is why it is laughable when you talk smack about “nobody wants to play us because we are so good.”EasternDspy wrote: ↑Wed Mar 04, 2020 6:46 pm He was being sarcastic. You call out crappy little Frontiers for being “afraid” of a bigger school, completely downplay the size difference between Ff & Waterford, and then turn around and say a team that has gone 48-1 in the last five regular seasons just can’t take the risk of playing a good school with a few more kids.
Sometimes, it just isn’t the right game for other schools, just like you (and maybe FF admins?) feel this just isn’t the right game for FF. So maybe stop with the “everyone is afraid of us”?

I wasn't being sarcastic. Ridgewood is not an elite program. And I could care less if they play Fort Frye. I also remember when the Cadets were the laughing stock of the Mid-Ohio Valley. But good luck to both programs.

Then please explain your prior comment of not giving them enough points. Or are you doubling down on Fort Frye is not willing to schedule teams you consider below "elite"?Bystander#1 wrote: ↑Thu Mar 05, 2020 11:34 am I wasn't being sarcastic. I don't know why Beverly didn't call back, if what you are asserting is true. I wasn't talking about computer points, talking about a high level of competition. And it's not consideration, it's what it is.
Re: Fort Frye needs games 2021
You're absolutely right about Waterford. They have a really good program right now, but the record between them and The Cadets is what it is. Why do they want to think they're Fort Frye's rival?enigmaax wrote: ↑Thu Mar 05, 2020 8:58 amThis explanation is why it is laughable when you talk smack about “nobody wants to play us because we are so good.”EasternDspy wrote: ↑Wed Mar 04, 2020 6:46 pm He was being sarcastic. Not sure where your going with this with Waterford but I believe the poster is commenting how a poster is always complains about local teams not wanting to play the fort when the fort doesn’t want to play teams that due Newark catholic , mogadore , ridge wood etc time for all envolved to move on and find games that make since for your team if possibleefarns wrote: ↑Fri Mar 06, 2020 5:09 pmYou're absolutely right about Waterford. Re: Fort Frye needs games 2021
Nice deflection. To answer your question, perhaps it is proximity, familiarity, and the lure of a big gate? Maybe a bit of little brother syndrome? Despite the lopsided won/lost record, is there anyone that FF hates losing to more than Waterford?efarns wrote: ↑Fri Mar 06, 2020 5:09 pmYou're absolutely right about Waterford. To the original point, FF has twice as many kids as Waterford. FF should expect to win most of the time. But as I mentioned, Edspy has repeatedly maintained that isn’t important. Then he trashes every smaller school who won’t sign up for a beating and claims “no one” wants to play the Fort. Yet, the excuse for FF’s refusal to play some bigger, better competition comes down to numbers and being afraid of injuries? Lol.
Nobody has knocked Fort Frye’s schedule. But a few people have directly responded to one guy’s silly hypocrisy on the topic. So you tell me - is it okay to pick and choose games based on what you feel is best for your program and kids, even if that means avoiding some risks? Or is Fort Frye as guilty of cowardice as Frontier and Monroe Central for not wanting to get in over their heads sometimes? (Note, This has nothing to do with Waterford because they still play FF.)

I'm looking forward to chatting with these Waterford posters, but it's a long time until football starts. We should pace ourselves.
