So you think it’s ok to stick it in and break it off on the football program because one kid qualified for the state track meet? Our kids deserved better.

Ask your selfish basketball coach who told all the basketball players not to play footballThe Ultimate Lancer wrote: Sat Aug 20, 2022 8:03 am So you think it’s ok to stick it in and break it off on the football program because one kid qualified for the state track meet? Our kids deserved better.
Re: Fed Football
The track was planned to be completed before Football season. Unfortunately in the era of COVID and big contracting companies, the project was pushed back and is actually delayed again for ground stabilization. There is a practice field and plenty of area for training. The track is not an excuse for football this year. Number of players and interest is! If they had a JV team kids inexperienced and Freshman would have played. They didn’t think of that when the Football scheduled was made last year.
And get out of here with the Basketball coach didn’t want him to play. Just because one person screamed that doesn’t mean it’s true. Blaming one sport for the demise of Football is absolutely insane. Getting a coaching staff that can recruit and retain players is the problem. Having a schedule that kids can play is the problem. A mostly Freshman football team should have played a Jv schedule, period. There is no way they would have survived a season playing a Varsity schedule with very few upperclassman.

Zero. And that is exactly the same amount of emphasis the admin puts on the football program. They hang their hats on the boys basketball program and nothing else matters as far as athletics goes. WOW! What a schedule. Yeah it sounds like the AD really wants the football program to succeed by scheduling three sure losses to start the season. One thing for sure if they have enough players for a team they won't have after those three games.jsteth wrote: Mon Sep 12, 2022 10:10 pmyes! heard they already have warren miegs and alexander scheduled to start next year although they may replace miegs or alexader w fort frye depending how thing plays out this year

Hoping our coach hires someone qualified to call the offense.

School Admin is supportive. I am told that parents are the problem…too few are supportive.

Any chance they would join the Southern Ohio Independent League until they can get their numbers up?

They wouldn’t have the funds to be making those drives on the regular.LICKING COUNTY FAN wrote: Sun Sep 18, 2022 5:34 pm Any chance they would join the Southern Ohio Independent League until they can get their numbers up?

I think it is unfair to blame the parents.Tiger73 wrote: Sun Sep 18, 2022 9:02 am School Admin is supportive. I am told that parents are the problem…too few are supportive.
They want what is best for their kids and don't want them in a program that hangs by a thread every year.
The fault ultimately lies not with them or the current Adm. but with the community who kept electing Board members who supported a principal (and later Superintendent) who was anti-athletics.
The Board (s) and the community who put them in charge should bear the blame.
It is hard to keep a program running when you refuse to hire teachers who coach.
Fed has one teacher who is willing to coach---and it's golf.
If you want a program then you need to put coaches in the building.
Re: Federal Hocking Football
I agree with this. They need to call Dave Richards and get him back on the sidelines. He was the first coach to be really successful there. Might be the best coach in school history, just like his son is at NY.fortdawg wrote: Tue Sep 20, 2022 9:08 pmI think it is unfair to blame the parents.Tiger73 wrote: Sun Sep 18, 2022 9:02 am School Admin is supportive.
