I just don’t understand fairland coaching staff. It’s very clear the best player on the team is Leep. He had 160-180 yards tonight on offenses and touched the ball maybe 5-6 times. He had two huge kickoff returns. 1st and goal from 6 yard line and he never touches ball any of the four snaps. Coaches are clueless. Fairland has the players.

Kalb doing good things with the Portsmouth program. Hope they can keep the numbers up going forward and keep the momentum going.*

Portsmouth will be a threat to anybody in the region if they play defense like they did tonight. Offense was already as good as anybody's; then you combine that with holding an opponent to under 200 yards of total offense and a shutout, you're talking about a dangerous team that could surprise a lot of people in the playoffs.

Off-topic, for Scioto County fans, really good to see West, Burg and Portsmouth in that top eight and you got Green and ND in top eight in Division VII. That's great to see. Don't know if Scioto County has had five teams finish inside of the top eight of the computer points in their respective regions within the last 15 years, but looks good to happen this year. Then Northwest is handling its business too. Valley played with a lot of heart tonight. Minford's 5-3. East won tonight and probably all but sealed their playoff bid. Could have all nine Scioto County football programs playing in Week 11 this year and possibly as many as two-thirds of them playing in Week 12. Would be great to see.

Absolutely. Hope the numbers continue to increase. Good win for PHS also.

We said the same thing. They just kind of slow walked to the field nobody fired up but I never expected a running clock on them

Well, didn't expect that score but did except a Trojan a win. Great to see them play like that on defense. They owed Fairland that beat down after that game last year at the mud bowl. Portsmouth needs to keep building. If they had only played like that all year, they'd be undefeated right now. One of the best all around showings I've seen from the Trojans in maybe 15 years.

Just a good example of how comparing scores isn't a good method. Fairland beats West, 14-13 week one. West beats Portsmouth week 2, 34-7. Portsmouth beats Fairland, 34-0 last night. Congrats to Portsmouth. That's a team I would want to stay away from in that 8-10 spot for sure.

Very proud of the Trojans!! No doubt it was Portsmouth's best game of the year, especially on defense. To shut out a good team like Fairland is something to take notice of. The Trojans dominated on both sides of the ball. Bo Hammond had a pick 6 and Nolan Heiland also had an interception as the Trojans stifled the Dragons' air attack. Reade Pendleton had several big yardage plays on offense. QB Tyler Duncan had his usual good game.

I think Coach Kalb mentioned on the radio today that it was Portsmouth's first shutout since 2017. Congratulations to the coaching staff for putting together a game plan that worked virtually to perfection. The hook and ladder TD play was one of the highlights of the season.

Last night's win clinched a playoff spot for PHS. Now hopefully our kids can stay at this level of play heading into the next 3 games vs. South Point, Ironton, and the Week 11 opponent.

GO TROJANS!!
