Great perspective, Coop. Last year Valley gave up 59 pts to Portsmouth and lost by 30. They held that same Portsmouth offense to 15 pts last night and only lost by 3pts. Can't believe the difference in Valley's defense compared to last season.coop wrote: ↑Fri Aug 23, 2024 9:40 am We’ve discussed the negatives, but for Valley there is a lot to take away from this game.
There is excitement in the program, a lot of kids are out for the team, you have strong Community support.
You’re only in year 3 of a totally new staff/culture.
You held what was dubbed to be an explosive offense to 15 points, while the drive wasn’t ideal you had a chance to tie or win the game.
I think the program walks away from this one dissatisfied, but encouraged for what’s to come.
Looking forward to watching the season unfold for these guys and what the next few years hold.
Portsmouth going to have a solid season. Athletes/speed all over the field and when Heiland gets fully healthy, look out. Kalb does a great job with those kids. Trojans look like a 7-3 type of team to me.*
