Re: Clarkson North Cananda @ (5-0) Ironton
There's no way this thread had the back-and-forth over Canadian geography it did over... a possible misunderstanding of what appeared (at least to me) to be a double-entendre?
The way the thread was titled (how Ironton's opponent was listed) also seems to be the root of the overarching confusion, so let me clarify.
The program is called Football North. It carries the name Clarkson because that's the name of the school that provides the educational component to the players. It's called Football North because this program is specifically designed to play American rules football against American teams, for motivations not the least of which include getting Canadian talent generally in position to receive offers from FBS football programs. Because they really can't do that in the Canuck version of football against an exclusively-Canadian schedule.
Hopefully this puts it to bed.

Beautiful example of leading by action, and being a good neighbor. Kudos to Green for recognizing the difficult bind both teams set to take the field were in, now since lifted thanks to their kindness.fielddaddy wrote: ↑Fri Sep 27, 2024 5:24 pm ANNOUNCEMENT

enigmaax wrote: ↑Fri Sep 27, 2024 3:52 pmNorth Canada is like, the Yukon. They don’t even have electric there. And I know they have electric in Ironton. This’ll be culture shock, Enjoy the game since you are clueless. Where you said it was a joke you made at first but now keep trying to back the joke. Poutine time EH.farmer wrote: ↑Fri Sep 27, 2024 1:21 pmIt is in Mississauga which is in the Toronto Metro area. Has over 700,000 people in Mississauga. But you already knew that as you said before. The name North Canada is not Northern Canada. It is 90 mins from the US border and 30 mins from Toronto. But you are still stuck on North Canada which is like the guy who has a name of Shorty being 6 foot 7 inches tall. So sit back enjoy some poutine and watch the game EH.

Now hopefully that clears it up for the mansplainer who doesn’t know the difference between North Canada and South Canada (where Canadian Mississippi or whatever he was rambling about is located).
Hope it’s a clean game and that the North Canadians safely ride their bears back to the woods and enjoy the processed food and urinals that they don’t have up there by the Arctic Circle.

Costly penalties are returning. Had the turnover on downs but horse collar keeps their drive alive and they scored.
Re: Clarkson North Cananda @ (5-0) Ironton
Canada has some big boys on the O-line. Also, Ironton is having trouble stopping the fullback.

Feels like momentum swung on the horse collar, they are eating up all the clock too.
