They have alot of recievers still with Hopper returning and I will say I think Kemper will be a big guy in that group next year. Running backs... wow the speed there is unreal. Craigmiles and Walker are probably the fastest to in the SOC. The offense is a worry for me it's feeling in some spots on defense but that's where Woodward shine is on the defensive side of the ball. IT's gonna be a great year.

Speed is a great thing. But, it seems that Wheelersburg has alot of young players coming back that are inexperienced and have yet to prove themselves in big game situations. Having experience and leadership is a good thing to have to.

Wheelersburg will not be that inexperienced. Yes they lost a large senior class but return alot with varsity experience. Only issue I see is the experience of the offensive line. Only 1 returning OL with much experience. But this past season only had one returning starter on the OL as well. The OL positions will fill in fine with the current players. Also with a couple junior OL players coming back out they will fill the void.

Almost all of the defensive positions are returning with the exception of a couple DBs and a LB and DEs. At 5'8" 180+ Schankwiler can fill the CB as he has game experience there last season or maybe even move to LB. Hopper returns at 6'3" 180 with experience at both DE positions and some WLB. Look for Leach and Kemper to step in somewhere and sophmore B. Schankwiler to maybe fill the FS or other CB roll. Need both CBs and a FS and the D is set.

Offensively alot of athletes with speed returning. Craigmiles, Walker, White, Schankwiler, Lang and Hopper. Adding to it the OL of Robertson, Brogden, Adkins, Maxie, Leach, Frowine, Hacker, etc. Burg should have decent OL size and quickness.

Robertson, Brogden, Maxie, Frowine and Hacker are all bigger and some stronger than the line we had last year and are in the same position; with one returning starter. This group has the potential to be alot better than '07s line as long as they prepare as hard if not harder than we did last year. They, atleast I think, will thrive under the pressure and improve every week.

I look for it to be a race between Minford, burg, waverly, and possibly west. How about valley? How much did they lose/ bring back?

Well unless valley can find a way to beat the BURG then i dont think they will compete with those others.

None of this matters anyway, just a bunch of fans with opinions, and of course, a" fan" is going to spin the fact of why their team is going to be good. We will just have to wait and see. I think a few fans will be eating their words!! :122249

Hey pappy I know so much because I watch and am not very bias I tell it like it is and after watching Valley last year and from what they have coming back I do not expect them to be very good next year and for you to say that ppl think Valley will woop on Minford next year just makes me chuckle because I have not heard or read one person say that and I personaly think that Valley will not beat Minford next year they will most likely be rebuilding AGAIN and will be lucky to get 2 conference wins, and you are probably one of those people who think Minford will not be very good next year but I look for them to be almost as good as last years team. They have alot of unproven talent and with their schedule for next year they wont go any worse than 7-3.

If you look for Minford to be almost as good as last year's team, then they won't win the S.O.C. title.

Or maybe I meant that Minfords team from last year would win the SOC this year and this years Minford team will be almost as good as them. Or maybe we could just put a spin on everything said on here, Minford in 2003 was tri champs and Minford in 2007 didnt even have a share but you could argue that Minford was better in 2007 than 2003 so why couldn't Minford in 2008 win the SOC and but not be as good as Minford in 2007

I think what he meant was that in order for minford to win the soc in 08 then they will have to have a better team than they did in 07 and I agree.

I think the only team that Minford could possibly lose to will be Burg. Minford has alot of talent coming back and will be much faster and stronger than last year. Burg is, well... Burg, they are very fast and hard hitting and will be very good with alot of talent coming back too.Waverly lost pretty much everyone, they have a couple players that have proven themselves but we will have wait to see how they do as a team losing 20+ seniors. West will be 'ok', like somebody has already said, they have been playing since sophomore year but that haven't proven anything major. Valley will be good MAYBE in 09. And Northwest has a mountain to climb. So here is my list...

1) Minford or Burg (whoever wins between the two)
2)Minford or Burg
3)West
4)Waverly
5)Valley
6)Northwest

The SOC will be a 4 team race next year. Minford, burg, West, and Waverly will all be fighting for the gold ball.

Sorry, but I don't think Minford's team from last season would be able to win the title this season, either.
